Digital tools are being used more and more often today as a way to communicate to larger audiences with more of a punch. The internet is now the truly most important tool of all for marketing. To help with your marketing efforts, below are 6 strategies for website success.

1. Updates

A major benefit of marketing on the web is that you can continually update things even after they have been published. With printed material, that is not possible. If you have a promotion you want to promote, or a new product or service that is starting, add them to your website. Most websites today are made to make additions such as images and text easy to add after the website is up and running. Frequently updating your website will yield major results.

2. Communicating the Message

The most important marketing tool at your disposal is your website. Keep in mind the potential customers in the future, as well as current customers you have now. Never forget that even a tiny company can make a huge impact on competition, but only if you have a good one. If you build it, they will come. The important thing is to always be focused on the message you want to convey. Partnering with someone who can create that image, slogan, deal or whatever it may be will be helpful.

3. Branding

Along with the message you communicate, you need to get your brand aligned on the site. Adding your logo, visual effects and any key messages to the homepage and any other pages must be a part of your scheme, and it all should be in sync.

4. Photography

Too many people use generic images of smiling women and men on their webpage. This is a big mistake. If the people you’re putting pictures of on your website don’t work for you, why are they there? Try to always use custom-made photos that relate directly to the services you provide.

5. Promotions

Every single day, your webpage can be promoted somehow. If someone sends an email from your company, the webpage is promoted. If you get into Google’s good graces, you’re promoted. Your website is marketed so that everyone sees your companyname.com and are constantly reminded that you exist and you are there.

6. Marketing, Not IT

Gone are the days that web design was a job that the IT department took care of. Smaller companies may still believe this, but the best bet for small start ups is to get some outside support to help you design and maintain your website. Give it to the specialists. Trust me, outsourcing is your friend!

Your website can make or break your business, and your success. Be sure to put all your resources into a great website, because the pay off is unbelievable!
