File-Sharing Site Gets New Moniker, Promises to 'Transform' Digital Sharing
The company, which has been in operation for nearly a decade, has changed its name to Hightail to mark “the fundamental changes” that have occurred within the company as well as to represent a number of new services in the offing.
“Since I took over as CEO just over a year ago, we have worked hard to develop a culture that promotes true creativity and passion,” reads a blog post by Brad Garlinghouse.
“With a name that strides like a giant across a landscape of Boxes, Syncs and Shares alongside an audaciously elegant look that contrasts with the endless dreary blues of the cloud space, Hightail leads by example. It is the standard bearer that will help transform steady growth into true evolution and take our business to the next level.”
Garlinghouse was quick to add the fundamentals of the firm have not changed, however. He says Hightail is still an easy and secure way to access and share files and folders on any device.
The CEO was tight-lipped, however, about what is coming down the pipe at Hightail.
“We’ve got big plans to truly transform the world of digital sharing with ideas so exciting and innovative they needed a brand to match,” he says. “Say hi to Hightail.”
