Samsung’s Galaxy Tab S2 has the ever-popular Apple iPad beat when it comes to width.
The newly-launched tablet comes in at a slim 5.6 millimeters, beating out the 6.1-millimeter iPad Air 2.
The Galaxy Tab S2 comes in two sizes, eight inches and 9.7 inches, both of which are super light, 265 grams and 389 grams respectively, despite their metal frames.
“The Galaxy Tab S2 is not only our thinnest and lightest tablet of its size ever, it also gives users quick, easy access to a wealth of superior viewing and productivity features,” said CEO JK Shin. “We believe the Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 is the most complete personal visual device designed for consumers to carry and use anywhere.”
Samsung is hyping the tablets as the perfect devices for reading digital content because of their ‘super AMOLED display,’ and the elimination of “unnecessary scrolling.”
Available in black or white, the tablet will go on sale worldwide sometime next month, although the South Korean firm has yet to name the price tag.
