Like it or not, e-mail marketing is here to stay. Although tools like social media have taken its place when it comes to reaching out to an audience, e-mail marketing remains a practical, useful and relevant means of communication.

We’re not going to say that e-mail marketing is better than another method —although, many experts would argue that it is still the most effective method to drive up your sales. However, we will maintain that it is still one of best ways to give each one of your clients individual attention—and also make sure you get noticed.

Here are some of the best e-mail marketing tools you can use to boost those happy statistics.

1. Cake Mail:

This tool is perfect for small businesses to use for simple e-mail marketing. You can use Cake Mail for creating beautiful newsletters that require zero design experience. You can also personalize your e-mail messages, target specific groups, or mass mail newsletters to all of your contacts if you wish. Cake Mail will also provide measurable results on your e-mail marketing campaigns. The free plan will allow you 500 e-mails for a month after which an amount will be charged ($8 per month at lowest).

2. Reach Mail:

This tool is oriented around the needs of small businesses as well. The best thing about this tool is that it’s packed with features yet it can be acquired for free. So, you can create, schedule, and send off e-mails online for free—and not for any specific period or trial time. If you’re looking for other add-ons you can still get a load of features for a very, very reasonable rate: just $1. This includes e-mail previews, Google Analytics, no branding on your e-mails, and a priority send option.

3. Get Response:

This is another e-mail marketing tool that SBOs can use to create e-mail marketing campaigns or deliver information to subscribers. Its features include easy customization with an e-mail creator, image editor, drafts viewer, auto responder, and more. You can also track your efforts and compare follow ups. You can also create and publish landing pages in just a few clicks. If you need a little extra help, you can contact live support that’s available 24/7.

4. Contactology:

Contactology, now known as Campaigner, offers services aimed at allowing businesses, agencies, and cloud-based platforms to increase engagement, optimize for mobile and deliver better results. For marketers, this tool will enable actionable reporting, automated messaging, A/B testing and dynamic segmentation.

5. Envoke:

This is a popular Canadian software used for e-mail marketing. It is a little pricey ($249 minimum per month). But if you’re willing to pay for a pack full of features, you won’t mind the price at all. This is good for serious e-mail marketers, or perhaps even developers with a little bit of programming know-how.

6. Mail Chimp:

This is still one of the top e-mail services to use for e-mail marketing with more than nine million users sending 600 million e-mails every day. It also has one of simplest interfaces you can use for e-mail marketing, which makes it a top choice for small business owners. The best part is that you can use it for free for up to 2,000 subscribers and send up to 12,000 e-mails per month. If you’re more interested in a paid plan, you can purchase it for $15-$240 per month.

7. iContact:

This is both an e-mail and social media marketing tool and is perfect for meeting your SBO needs. The drag and drop feature makes customization really simple to use with hundreds of options in templates.  You can also use iContact to publish anything you like on Facebook or Twitter if you prefer targeting your audience there along with your e-mails. It is also really easy to track your marketing efforts and see how popular your e-mails were with the help of stats on opens, clicks and subscribers. The free trial will run for 30 days after which you will be charged $14 per month.

8. Jango Mail:

A lot of people prefer Jango Mail because it has quick and accurate delivery as well as the best customer service. Another reason would be that it has great HTML editors, industry leading API, advanced customization and personalization options, full code access, easy integration, and numerous reporting options. You can begin with a free trial and if you’re a fan, you can pay $90 per month for up to 18,000 e-mails.

9. Vertical Response:

This is another tool that is ideal for small businesses looking for easy-to-use, cost-efficient options. You can create a professional looking e-mail in just a matter of minutes with a simple drag and drop option. There are many customizable templates to choose from including text, images, brand colors, and social buttons that allow recipients to share your e-mail on social networks if they like. You can also make sure that your e-mails look great on mobile, without being too heavy or un-responsive. Your e-mails will automatically adapt to the user’s screen size. And guess what? You can send up to 4,000 e-mails to 1,000 contacts for free—no trials no hidden charges. Yep.

10. Campaigner:

Campaigner will allow you to target customers through segmentation, A/B split testing(for campaigns), and e-mail automation. This is an award-winning service and one that has been used by leading organizations such as Subway, NASA, and Warner Bros.

11. Mail Jet: If you’re looking for something that serves a large number of contacts without compromising cost-efficiency, try out Mail Jet. The free plan will cover 100,000 contacts and send up to 6,000 e-mails in a month. It manages e-mail lists, stats, and transactions all in one place. It also has a 24-hour helpline service that is backed by teams across three continents. For more features and add-ons you can buy a package ranging from $7.49 per month to $799 per month.

E mail marketing is really working for my Madhubani Paintings website as it is giving me returning visitor and frequent buyers too. We should follow some protocols to avoid spamming.

Nice post Christina .. MailChimp has earned great reputation for making e-mail marketing an easy affair, and now with these features, they’re making it lot easier.

    avatar Adrian says:

I am surprised constant contact does not appear in this list. It has similar features to MailChimp and is quite widely used.

Any particular reason it has not been mentioned?

Don’t forget to make sure that all the names you add to your e-mail marketing campaign have double opted in. That is they have to take an extra step to be added to the list and confirm that they want to receive your communications.

I constantly report spam from businesses that I have never had any prior contact with that I receive for my QuickBooks and Quicken set up, review, troubleshooting, training, and reseller business in Seattle.

I agree with Adrian about Constant Contact Maybe they are too big and the author wanted to support smaller businesses.

These tools must be used within the parameters of marketing, avoiding overuse.

Why does no-one ever mention TrafficWave? They only charge $17.95 pm no matter how many subscribers you have or how many emails you send out, and they have an affiliate program where they pay you comm’s when you promote their service to others who buy.
I never see TrafficWave mentioned anywhere. I want to subscribe to them, but I’m nervous because they are not mentioned as being compatible with anything else, where others are mentioned, like Mailchimp, Getresponse, Aweber, iContact and others.
Can anyone shed any light on this?

    avatar Ryan says:

Great list! Good to see GetReponse on here! It’s one of the best tools I’ve tried lately.

    avatar Matthew says:

Great list but I just wondered why you’ve not included AWeber. We don’t used it but I know many who do. We use Mailchimp for all our email marketing – except one client who insists we use Swiftpages – yuk!

    Thanks for post
Definitely storing documents electronically is great. It saves manpower, plants and much of space. But proper security must be there or there is always threat to confidential documents specially in areas like defence..
