Google Snags More Talent For VR Division

Vine Boss Leaves Twitter To Join Company's Growing Sector

Google’s virtual reality division is getting more muscle.

Toff tweetLess than a month after it was announced the company was creating a VR division headed up by Clay Bavor there’s been another major addition to the team. Google’s gain is Twitter’s loss as Jason Toff announced he’s leaving the 140-character social media company to work on Google’s VR ventures.

Toff, who had been heading up Twitter’s Vine, announced on his own Twitter account he’s leaving and heading over to Google, reported The Verge.

“Personal update! I’m joining Google to work on VR. So much exciting potential there,” Toff tweeted on Sunday evening.

More and more companies are jumping on the VR bandwagon and, earlier this week, Samsung even confirmed it is creating a studio specifically for creating VR content.

As Android Headlines reported, Toff’s announcement also coincides with Google job postings which state they are working on new hardware for VR. There’s no way of knowing if that’s why Toff has joined Google but the company certainly seems to be making up for lost time in terms of the VR competition that is quickly heating up.
