There are lots of WordPress plugins available, but which ones you should choose depend on your particular WordPress site’s requirements.
I have some basic WordPress plugins I would like to recommend to you for use on your WordPress site.
After Installing nearly 300 WordPress websites for clients, we understand it may be difficult for users who are using this CMS for the first time to hunt for those top WordPress plugins. I have compiled a list of FREE plugins which is must for your next WordPress site, so use them without giving it a second thought.
1. W3 Total Cache (or an equivalent caching/speed plugin)
When it comes to optimizing your website’s performance, W3 Total Cache is the plugin to choose. Optimizing the speed and load time of your website can be quite a challenge. With the W3 Total Cache plugin you can make use of caching.
The plugin improves your site by increasing server performance, reducing download times and providing transparent content delivery network (CDN) integration. This is done by cashing, minimizing and compressing your data to optimum.
2. Yoast SEO (or an equivalent content optimization plugin)
The definitive word in WordPress SEO is Yoast. WordPress SEO is a tricky thing. You will hear the WordPress platform is SEO friendly, and it is. You will hear your Equity or other premium theme is SEO friendly, and it is. You hear this plugin is SEO friendly, and it is. Then I am going to tell you that SEO friendliness will not get your site to rank on the search engines without content.
Yoast knows this too, and that is why this plugin not only focuses on optimizing your site (for on-page SEO), but also helps you to build SEO-friendly content.
WordPress provides already powerful SEO capabilities and features to improve your blogs’ ranking, but don’t assume wrongly that this is all you need to do to get found.
Yoast SEO is the industry standard plugin to help you in improving every single one of your posts with SEO-friendly features such as defining a focus keyword, creating a SEO title and SERP snippet for your blog posts. This will improve the readability of your copy and will thus improve your posts for search engines as well as readers. The plugin ensures you check all options for improving your posts to drive the right traffic to your blog. Yoast SEO is free for some basic features and offers a bunch of elaborate features with a paid subscription.
Every website has a contact form which lets users contact the website team. Developers create a form with long, written pieces of code, but beginners don’t know much about programming; that’s where the Contact form 7 plugin comes in. It helps to generate a form without worry about coding details. To prevent submission by bots you can add CAPTCHA to your form by installing Really Simple Captcha; it is specifically created for contact form 7.
Of course, it can be and probably will be embedded into your theme/template, but if you use the default one, you’ll need the free Contact Form 7 plugin for your visitors to get in touch with you.
Multiple contact forms can be created and managed through this plugin. No need for extra coding with the Contact Form 7 plugin — the form and mail contents can be easily customized through the settings.
The Contact Form 7 also supports Ajax-powered submitting, CAPTCHA and Akismet filtering to help with spam.
You need this one. This plugin will generate a special XML sitemap that will help search engines like Google, Bing and Yahoo to better index your blog. It builds your xml sitemap automatically for SEO purposes and for Google webmaster tools. The XML site map provides structure of websites to search engines so they can crawl your website properly and index WebPages. The plugin supports all kinds of WordPress-generated pages as well as custom URLs. Additionally, it notifies all major search engines every time you create a post about the new content.
