Instagram Begins Surfacing ‘Recommended’ Posts in Your Feed

Instagram is beefing up your feed with more content — content it hopes will keep you on its site longer.

Dubbed as Recommended for You, the social media site will suggest posts that are based on posts liked by accounts you follow.

According to TechCrunch, Recommended for You posts will have their own designated section, which can be accessed via a thumbnail directly above your main feed.

If you don’t want to see Recommended for You posts, you do have the option of temporarily hiding them, according to Instagram’s help section.

To get rid of posts that appear in the Recommended for You section:
  1. Tap  (iPhone) or  (Android) above the post.
  2. Tap Hide.

Instagram told TechCrunch the new Recommended for You section will surface in your feed only after you’ve seen all of the other posts.
