Blog Writing – The Biggest Mistake
By Brian Stephens in Blogs & Podcasts
Good blog writing is an art. It requires attention to detail, good grammar, good punctuation, correct spelling and great content. So what is the single biggest mistake a blogger can make when writing a blog post that is supposed to be optimized for search engines?
Basically, it is to sacrifice any of these requirements in order to use what they think are high paying, low competition and high inquiry keywords or keyword phrases that simply do not fit into the content of their post under the misconception that they believe this is a good website search optimization strategy.
Examples are deliberate misspellings, phrases that are questions and cannot be contextualized as answers, abbreviated phrases and so on.
The flaw in focusing on keywords of this type rather than content is that the search engine operators actually look for and value good content i.e. the content that flows nicely, has correct spelling, good punctuation etc. etc.
They do not value nonsensical paragraphs that are clearly written to attract search engine attention rather than to meet the requirements of visitors to the website that have arrived there for a specific purpose and that is to find great content and information on their topic of choice.
You only have to think about what happens when someone arrives on your website and either cannot make sense of what you have written or, equally as important, cannot find the information they are looking for. They simply leave again and go and look for a different website or blog that does provide the information they want in a format they enjoy and in a place they can find it.
The technical term for what I am discussing is the bounce rate, the time a visitor spends on your website and how many pages they visit. If they only look at the first page or leave almost as soon as they arrive then you will register a high bounce rate. 100% basically says that they have not found what they came for and left immediately. A more acceptable level is 50%, but should be lower if possible, and that should be the minimum target any webmaster or blogger aspires to achieve.
Writing your blogs or websites with the objective of providing useful information that is well written and with appropriate keywords that describe the actual content of your site will result in far better search engine optimization than selecting keywords that are inappropriate or cannot be converted into sensible paragraphs of written text that can be understood and enjoyed by your visitors.
If you do your keyword research thoroughly and with this view in mind, there is a high probability that you will find keywords that are high paying, low competition, with sufficient numbers of inquiries and that do fit with your content in a sensible and coherent fashion. The extra effort required to do this will ultimately reward you with the associated benefit of attracting more people who in turn will become loyal visitors that come back to revisit your site and who are likely to recommend it to others.
Remember it can take a very long time to build a loyal fan base for a blog but all the work put into achieving that can be lost in moments by placing rubbish in your blog posts. You need to consider both the human elements and the search engine algorithm elements.

What Is The Most Effective Way To Measure Your Blog’s Success? – A SPN Exclusive Article
By David Smith in Blogs & Podcasts
You can measure your blog’s success using the right metrics for your blog type and purpose. For example, you can determine the success of a business blog based on the number of clients the blog earns for the business. An affiliate blog site’s success can be measured based on its affiliate sales and an industry blog’s success can be measured based on its subscriber rate.
Depending on the nature and the purpose of your blog, the metrics that you can use to successfully measure your blog’s success can be varied. Fortunately, there’s a host of sophisticated tools that’ll help you achieve the results you want, whether your blog is a personal outlet or a business blog.
What Is Your Blog’s Purpose?
Your blog’s purpose has a great deal to do with how you can measure its success. Is your blog a personal outlet, a place for you to share your thoughts, desires and opinions with like-minded folk? With this type of blog, the determining success factor is the quality of its content. You can measure the success of a personal blog by tracking readership, evaluating comment rate and tracking where your blog is being discussed and followed.
Personal blogs can become enormously popular and can even transform into businesses. Many of the present-day business-related blogs were once personal blogs. With mounting traffic, revenue options are explored and it doesn’t take long before the blog’s success has to be measured using different metrics, such as conversion, retention, income stats and so on.
A Step By Step Process To Measure Your Blog’s Success
Whether your blog is for personal or business purposes, you can use this step by step model to measure success.
1. Define Goals
If you have a business blog, define your website’s goal and your company’s goal. If your blog is personal, define your goals for engaging in it. Finally, define what you think should be your audience’s goal in consuming your content. Determine what you want your blog to achieve, as follows:
* Do you want your blog to raise awareness of a particular issue?
* Is your blog meant to showcase and sell your product and service offerings?
* Is your blog meant to generate a conversation around certain specific topics?
Based on the goals that you define, you can set up measurement metrics and measure your blog’s success accordingly.
2. Measure Reach
Comments are good and let you know that your blog is being read. However, unless you have a reasonable volume of comments over time, it’s hard to measure your blog’s reach using the comment rate alone. Rather, measure the reach of your blog via shares, page views, number of new visitors and traffic volume. Check how many people are actually viewing your overall blog, and then find out how many people are reading individual posts.
* Evaluate your blog’s overall readership over time to get a solid sense of your blog’s reach and growth.
* Evaluate the readership of individual posts to know the kinds of posts your viewers like to read and how often they like to read them.
* Track the sites where your blog posts are reposted and how often this occurs. You can track this metric using a tool such as Google Alerts.
* Staying on top of the growth of your RSS subscribers over time will let you know how popular your blog is and how your committed readership has grown over time.
* Use Google Analytics to evaluate where people are hearing about your blog. Are people following your blog on Twitter, or Facebook? Are your email subscribers forwarding your newsletters? Google Analytics can track traffic sources, giving you the metrics you need to evaluate your blog’s reach.
3. Measure Acquisition Rates
Measure acquisition rates by checking visitation rates by new visitors, pages viewed and time spent on your site. Start tracking response rates to your Ads and promos. This will let you know how your advertising dollars are being spent and in which area your dollars are being wasted.
By measuring acquisition rates, you can generate good leads to convert into paying customers. Tracking your response rate allows you to figure out cost per lead. You can arrive at customer acquisition costs by tracking how many leads turned into a sale. Use a tool such as Google Adwords or Google Analytics to define goals and track response rates. If you are using a Google Adwords campaign, you can use the same tool to measure cost per customer acquisition, or cost per lead.
4. Measure Conversion Rates
Depending on the nature of your blog, your conversion rates will give you the most effective success measurement metric. Identify and measure all the activities that lead to a goal in a conversion chute.
* How many of your readers click links to your website?
* How much time do your visitors spend on your website and which pages do they most visit? How much time does the average visitor spend on specific pages?
* How many readers click your Ad links?
* How many of your readers subscribe to your newsletters?
* How many of your readers choose to follow you on Twitter and Facebook after reading your blog?
* If you are a product affiliate blog, how many of your readers are clicking links to product reviews and product sites after reading your blog?
* How many of your leads are resulting in a sale? Based on this metric, what is your lead-to-sale conversion rate?
5. Measure Retention Rates
Using retention rates, you can estimate the present and future growth of your blog and its related business.
* How many of your first time visitors are returning visitors?
* How many existing customers or visitors do you have, versus new visitors?
* How often do new visitors view content that’s mostly meant for existing visitors and customers?
* How many existing visitors or customers post comments, make return purchases or contact customer service?

Nine Blogging Tips for Your Online Internet Marketing Business
By Gareth Price in Blogs & Podcasts
With millions of blogs on the internet – and more being added every day! – it can seem like an impossible task to get your online internet business up and running and get your blog noticed. But it is possible to make a niche for yourself, even in a very competitive market space. Here are nine ways to create attention to your blog:
1)Write great content. It sounds simple, but it’s true. If you want people to want to read your stuff, and refer your friends to your site, write content worth reading. Then do it again, and again, and again.
2) Interact with other bloggers. There are many bloggers in your niche, and instead of viewing them as competitors, see them as potential partners. Comment on their blogs via social media sites and so on. Make yourself their supporter, and they’ll be more receptive to helping you out when they can.
3) Add eye-catching images. Lots of people are scanners, and they’ll pop over to your blog to just see what’s happening. Strong images are a great way to grab their attention; long blocks of text are a turn-off for most people.
4) Add audio and video. Adding other media forms is a way to mix things up and keep them interesting. While any one particular visitor might skip an audio, another one might be dying to hear your voice!
5) Keep things relevant. Comment on the latest trends in your industry, or relate top-of-mind news stories to your market. For example, if everyone’s talking about reality TV, can you take a spin on the most popular show for your market? Be the go-to expert.
6) Interview “big names.” While you may not be able to compete with the “celebrities” in your market when it comes to traffic, you can divert some of their traffic your way by interviewing them. This is a great place to bring in audio and video.
7) Do a giveaway. Find something people in your market would really like, and hold a contest or giveaway. (Hint: The more tightly tied the prize is to your market, the more targeted your traffic will be).
8 ) Guest posting means appearing on other blogger’s sites. It allows you to reach a new market, complete with the stamp of approval from someone that this new market already knows, likes, and trusts. For more information on guest blogging – including how to hold your own “blog tour” – visit Nicole Dean’s blog at nicoleonthenet.com.
9) Interact with readers. Your audience is your bread and butter. When they comment, you should be appreciative AND responsive. Engage them in conversation, either in the comments section of your site, or via email. Never ignore your readers!
Very few bloggers – even those who consider themselves “professionals” – do all these things.
That’s why there will always be room for someone new at the top – someone who’s willing to do the things others aren’t. Someone like you!

Cashing In On Blog Marketing-5 Things To Do
By Jeff Schuman in Blogs & Podcasts
Some people are perfectly happy to blog for the fun of it. However, others are in it for the money. It is possible to make a lot of money as a blogger.
Ultimately blogging comes down to attracting new readers on a consistent basis. You then need to keep those people coming back for more. To do this there are a few things you must learn how to do it consistently worked on.
1. Write interesting content. The best way to do this is to start a blog in a niche you have knowledge on, or have a passion for.
You’ll find it’s much easier to sit down and write blog articles when you don’t have spent a lot of time researching. Not only that, but when you write from the position of passion or experience it will come across in the type of articles you write.
Is your blog going to be informational by nature? Hopefully it will be. However, you also want to interject things into your writing style that are controversial, humorous, and so on.
2. SEO your blog posts. Optimize your blog articles around keyword phrases people are searching for relating to the theme of your blog.
Keep your content tightly focused around a specific niche. This makes it easier to build a keyword list that you can write blog articles around.
Include your keyword phrases in the title of the blog post. Also include the exact keyword phrase in the first and last paragraphs of the blog article. Then in the body of the article use variations of this phrase as it sounds natural.
3. Update your blog regularly. You do not have to do a blog article every day if you do not want to. However, at least be committed enough to your blog to update your content one or two times a week.
Many people who are busy will sit down on a Sunday afternoon and write one month’s worth of blog content. You can then publish your posts to be updated in advance based on the schedule you choose.
4. Blog comments. Encourage your readers to post comments on the blog articles you are writing. To develop some good backlinks go out and make blog comments on other people’s blogs.
You can subscribe to Google Alerts for the primary keyword phrase of your blog. Every day in your email inbox you can receive updates on blogs that relate to your specific keyword phrase.
When making a blog comment use your primary keyword phrase in the name field. This will help you build backlinks based around the relevancy of those keyword phrases.
5. Monetize your blog. Join affiliate programs and place banners for them on your blog. Also join Google Adsense and include some Google ads on your blog. These are two proven ways for you to make money as a blogger.
Doing these 5 things will help you cash in on blog marketing. You need a commitment to make your blog as good as it can be. When you do that you will attract readers on a consistent basis and that will lead to more income for you.

Starting A Blog? Here Are Some Quick Tips For Success
By Stefan Dyke in Blogs & Podcasts
Having a blog is one of the easiest ways to get started making money online and one of the best things about them is that they are extremely easy to setup and create. Not only can you maintain your blog at your own pace, modern technology means that you can even blog while you are on vacation or on the move – just imagine knowing that your blog is making you money while you enjoy a holiday somewhere nice!
Of course the first step to making any money with a blog is to get one set up. The good news is that it’s possible to do this completely free of charge and that’s what we are going to take a look at in this article.
First, you need to get yourself set up with a blog. There are a couple of options – host a blog using your own domain name or get a free one hosted elsewhere. Let’s concentrate on the free blog options initially and in this instance there are really only two decent options:
http://www.blogger.com or http://www.wordpress.com.
Blogger is actually owned by Google, so it will generally be indexed by Google faster whereas WordPress is a free blog engine that is robust and infinitely expandable. WordPress is better in the sense that it has more advanced features such as Trackbacks and Categories and you can also manage your sidebar links more efficiently (more about this later).
A quick word of warning. If you are thinking of using a WordPress hosted blog, WordPress tends to frown upon blogs that are too commercial and hosted on their service platform. If you want to make money from your blog or make it commercial, you may want to use a self-hosted WordPress blog which you can get from WordPress.org or Blogger.
Once you’ve gotten yourself a free blog from either Blogger or WordPress you should post some test posts and get yourself familiar with the many options that are available to you (in particular with WordPress) so that you can be sure to understand how they work and what the benefits are.
Here are some key features that you should get to know in order to make the most of your blog:
Permalink - Permalink stands for permanent link, which is a URL (Uniform Resource Locator) that leads to an individual post that you make in your blog.
Trackback - When you post about someone else’s blog post elsewhere, your post will automatically show up in their
“trackback” section. This feature is only available with WordPress, and not Blogger blogs.
Pinging – Pinging is the action where a certain aggregator is notified whenever your blog is updated, so that the aggregator may show the newest post of your blog on their website. This is a useful way to gain traffic and get easy links to your blog, which can increase your search engine ranking.
Now that you know a little bit more about the language of blogging, let’s think about the type of content you should consider blogging about in order to maximize your chance of having a profitable blog.
One key thing to understand is that the nature of the internet and people in general means that there is no limit to the type of content that your blog could have. The main difference between a blog that does well and makes money for it’s creator and one that doesn’t is going to be down to the way that you write, not what you write about. Think about the type of articles you like to read. They are usually light weight and easy to skim in order to get the gist of the content, so you want to make sure that your blog contains quality content that is easy to absorb.
Adding a personal touch to your blog posts will attract more readers and have them coming back for more by making the site feel more friendly and engaging. Avoid writing like you are preaching to the masses. Instead, concentrate on writing as if you are simply talking with a close friend, someone that is eager to learn what you have to share, someone who you can relate to. And besides, it’s also very useful to establish your own personality through your words. We are all very curious creatures, so naturally your visitors will want to know as much about you as the information you’re offering them.
Having a distinctive personality in your blog will make a world of difference between your blog about gadgets and all the other blogs about gadgets out there. This is a lot like creating your own brand name where people immediately remember your blog’s name when they need information about gadgets, just like how people immediately think of McDonald’s for fastfood or Nike for sportswear.
One thing to remember – it can be hard to change from one blog platform to another without a large amount of work so if you are truly looking to make money with your blog, start with either a Blogger site or a WordPress blog installed on your own server (I’d personally suggest the latter).

How Frequently Should I Update My Blog To Keep Followers Returning?
By Diana Samalot in Blogs & Podcasts
Blogging has become a key element part of an online presence for every small business owner. It’s no longer the domain of the niche aficionado or somebody with a distinct ax to grind in that way, but has by itself turn out to be a crucial marketing vehicle. You might have a business website already, but there is just about every reason for you to think about the establishment of a blog as well.
When you create and maintain a blog it has the power to catch the attention of regular followers. Each blog post can attract responses and this is what you should always aim for. Whenever you can initiate a two-way flow of discussion, this is viewed as being a very dynamic and valuable activity by the search engines like Google.
They’re more than likely to reward the particular blog page with a better ranking in the results webpages as a result.
When you have a blog content approach SEARCH ENGINE OPTIMIZATION rewards will without doubt follow. So long as you make the material suitable to your specific niche market, in addition to interesting and informative, you’ll have your angles covered. The modern-day SE is always looking out for content material that is relevant. They are just as likely to assess the context of the content that you put on your blog. While the reader will comment if the material is good, the SE also wants to make sure it is not only relevant but that there’s a level of comment discussion happening.
New business owners are often asking how to earn extra money running a blog and in fact you can do this two ways.
You may populate your actual blog with pertinent advertisements, affiliate offers and pay per click traffic alternatives, but you also can ensure that the content is so remarkably relevant and targeted that it subsequently increases targeted traffic. When people begin to comment back and forth your traffic expands exponentially. This is the moment to supply a pertinent link to your product or solution web page to siphon most of this traffic through your sales funnel.
The blog should be quite dynamic and must not be left to fester. This leads people to the query – exactly how frequently should blogs be updated? Views vary, naturally, but in general you ought to aim to update your blog several times per week if at all possible. If you have something crucial to express and have already built up a good following, then you certainly might prefer to make an attempt to update it on a daily basis. The trick is to make sure that you have something distinct to convey and you shouldn’t update just for the sake of refreshing the web page. Don’t be frightened to be controversial, within reason, as this is as likely as any other reason to induce those all-important responses.
A well-maintained blog is another good way of building credibility, authority and establishing trust. There must be a clear connection between your blog and your sales web page, but do not make the mistake of creating blog content material that is always sales oriented. There is a fine and delicate line here, but if you discover it, you may strike gold.

How To Start A Free Podcast In Three Easy-To-Do Steps
By David Hurley in Blogs & Podcasts
Internet marketers are constantly looking for new ways to promote themselves and their products or services on the Internet. A common question on Internet marketing forums is “how can I promote my website?” Usually the answers run the gamut of the most common methods, such as website SEO, article marketing, Pay Per Click and so on.
Occasionally, video marketing via YouTube is mentioned, but it is not often that someone suggests that you start your own podcast. The perception seems to be that it is difficult to do, yet today it has never been easier to set up your own podcast and create a series of 5-15 minute audio recordings that you can post on iTunes and also on your website.
Once you have a podcast on iTunes people will be able to find your programs, listen to them and if they like them, they will subscribe to your podcast. They will be able to download your podcasts from iTunes each time you produce a new recording. Simply put, making a podcast and posting it on iTunes is a good way to get the word out about your business while providing a free service to people in your target market – people who use iTunes every day.
The beauty of it is that it is easy to do! Here’s how to set up your own podcast in a few easy steps:
1. Create Your Podcast – Use the sound recording software on your computer to create your podcast content. If you use Windows you can record on Sound Recorder; if you have a Mac you can use Garageband.
Simply choose a topic relating to your business, such as one of your products or services, and talk about the need that it fills or the problem that it solves for your prospective customers, focusing on a specific point in each podcast. If you already write articles to promote your website, then you could simply adapt your articles and create each podcast around an article – just hit the record button and read the article out loud. Add an few introductory and closing comments and mention your website address each time. That’s it!
2. Hosting Services For Podcasters – Open an account with a podcast host and you will be able to store your podcasts on it. This makes more sense than hosting your podcasts on your website as audio files require quite a lot of storage space and as your audience grows you will need a lot of bandwidth; podcast hosting sites are specifically designed to handle those issues for you.
Start off with a free or low-cost account and think about upgrading when you start to get a good following for your podcast. Popular podcast hosting services include Libsyn, Podbean, HipCast, GoDaddy, OurMedia, Odeo Studio. Personally, I use Podbean.com and started off with a free account which is easy to set up and use.
3. Upload To iTunes – After you have recorded a couple of shows and have opened an account with a podcasting host your next step will be to post your show on iTunes. This is also easy to do.
Open iTunes and click on iTunes Store. When the store opens you will see a bar at the top of the browser with “Podcasts” in the middle of the bar. Click on “Podcasts” and on the new page you will see a “Podcasts – PODCAST QUICK LINKS” menu column on the right hand side. Click on “Submit a Podcast” and you’ll be taken to a new page with a field called “Podcast Feed URL”. The podcast feed will be in the admin area of your podcasting host site. If you use Podbean you will find it under “My Profile”. Simply copy the feed and paste it into the iTunes “Podcast Feed URL” field and click “Continue” to go through the submission process.
Provided there are no unforeseen hitches iTunes will soon start showing your podcast and you can now consider yourself to be “in business”!
It is that easy.

How To Blog For 31 Days…And Why You Want To!
By Chris Makell in Blogs & Podcasts
In July, I learned about blog “challenges” and was curious about them. From what I’d heard, website owners were having extraordinary success by participating in them. These results ranged from increased traffic, more subscribers to their lists, invitations to be guest bloggers on well-known sites, interviews for other business owners, etc. It sounded too good to be true…and like a lot of work! While I WAS blogging, I tried to be active about 2-3 times a week, not daily!
And so when a colleague of mine launched a blog challenge and invited me, I was skeptical that I could participate, though based on what I’d already heard about the benefits, I knew that I should. And I did.
The results were powerful! I’ve had a 72% increase in overall traffic to my website and a 70% increase in new visitors to the site. And this was in 31 days! But it was a bit daunting until I discovered a few “tricks” for making it easier on myself, so that I could stay excited about blogging daily.
If you’re ready to take on the challenge and increase traffic to your website, as well as explode your visibility to potential clients, then use these tips to help you leverage a blog to grow your business.
Tip #1 – Plan out some topics you’d like to talk about
Take 10 -15 minutes, sit down and just do a “brain dump” of all the things you could share with your readers. It could be lessons learned from your client interactions, questions you get from prospects and how you respond or how your clients get incredible results by taking the first step, etc.
Once you have the list, then take one, each day, to blog about. You’ll get the opportunity to teach more people and have them follow you to learn more. And where else will you find a platform to demonstrate how much you know and want to share with others – and they in turn will share what they like about it with others!
Tip #2 – Sharing is caring…
I don’t mean to get mushy here, however, sharing other people’s knowledge with your readers demonstrates that you care enough to help them learn “beyond” you. It’s natural to want to know it all and share it all so that people come to you. But your value grows exponentially when you expand THEIR knowledge by sharing more from other sources. Then you’re viewed as the “go to” resource to help people learn more and grow more. In addition, when you share someone else’s content, they will likely return the gesture. Now more people get to know who you are and what you offer.
Very cool!
Tip #3 – You can accomplish more than you think…
I was a little concerned about the 31 days of blogging and immediately began thinking of what I could “re-purpose” vs. create from scratch. And even then, I was nervous about “repeating” myself. And it didn’t help that I had a birthday and some travel in the midst of the 31 days! But you know what? As we all do, I rose to the occasion. You become more creative and committed when you start to see that you ARE blogging for 10 days, 20 days, etc. — consistently! It’s quite the feeling to look back and see what you’ve accomplished…so much so, that you’re committed to “not going back”. Not blogging will begin to feel unusual for me now.
Of course you should link your blog to the social media sites you participate in, like Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, so that more people become aware of all the great information you have to share with them!
Good luck and happy blogging!
P.S. – Here is why blogging is so cool…I re-purposed part of my post for this article…cool huh?

How to Maintain a Fresh and Relevant Blog
By Resource Nation in Blogs & Podcasts
Maintaining a blog is a great way to bring in traffic to a website. It is considered by many to be among the greatest ways to get attention by the search engines without having to study algorithms or anything else. You will be able to create the kind of organic SEO material which search engines love and your visitors will find most appealing. The problem some people run into is making sure the content on their blog remains as fresh and inviting as possible even after they have been blogging for an extended period of time. There are a few different ways in which you can accomplish this.
When blogging to gain traffic for your site, it is important to make sure your site is being trusted by those who visit it. You can maintain this position of authority by inviting experts to post on your blog often. You can also offer your visitors the ability to enter blog posts on your blog. If you cannot think about anything new to write or you simply do not have the time, hire a freelance writer. You can also hire a professional to revamp the look of your blog. Marketing your blog through affiliates can also help to maintain freshness. Use the ideas which work best for your particular business.
Invite Experts as Guest Bloggers
It is important that you have the ability to get the most out of the blog that you have. You can make sure that your blog is taken very seriously by inviting experts to enter content on your blog. You do not have to enter their names into your payroll services. Simply make sure that they are being paid or receiving some kind of compensation for the content that they provide. Many experts will be glad to post on your blog if you have good recognition. They will enjoy the kind of exposure they will receive by posting on well-known sites.
Allow Visitors to Add Blog Posts
Your visitors might be something of an expert themselves. Allow them to submit blog posts to your site. You can often get good content from others by offering to allow them to create links to their sites. Other bloggers and other businesses will jump at the opportunity to post on your blog if they will get something out of it. Others enjoy simply spreading the knowledge they have to others. Make sure that you look over content before it is posted. You do not want to risk others submitting content which will get your website banned or result in less people wanting to visit your site.
Hire Freelance Writers
You can always get fresh ideas by bringing in new talent. Look into hiring freelance writers from different sites around the internet or from forums. They can add content to your site and you will not have to pay a lot of money to get the content you are looking for. The great thing about hiring freelance writers is that they will be able to provide the kind of information you are looking for without having to do the research or work on your own. Hire based on writing skills and understanding of the kind of content you are looking for.
Revamp Your Look
Staying fresh is easiest when the look of your site is fresh. Make sure that you are changing the look of your blog often so that it will be as inviting as possible. Change everything from the background to the orientation of the material which is on the blog. The easier you make the blog to use and the more appealing the appearance is the more likely you are to attract more people to the blog. Pay attention to what other sites in your niche are using as a look. You can pick up ideas from these different sites, but pay attention not to copy them. If your site looks just like another, it will make your site look like a copycat and you will lose some of your credibility. Maintain a fresh look by staying ahead of the curve as much as possible.
Affiliate Marketing
Linking with other sites can also help your blog to remain fresh. Look for other sites in the same niche as yours and offer to create affiliate networks which pay one another for the traffic that you receive. The mutually beneficial agreement will help to bring in traffic to your site as well as to theirs. When you are linked with affiliates, you also have the opportunity to bring in advertisers with banners and other kinds of advertising schemes. Make sure you are not linked to anything which will offend your visitors or the visitors you get from other sites so traffic stays high.

New Auto Blog Rules
By Michel Maling in Blogs & Podcasts
Many avid bloggers who have been blogging for years have realized that auto blogging isn’t as easy as it used to be. A couple of years ago one would get a blog up and running in about twenty minutes, put it out on the internet with content automatically being fed into it, and then just wait for the sales to start rolling in.
If you had to treat your blogging business like that today, you wouldn’t get very far. First, you won’t rank in the search engines due to duplicate content. The other reason you could get penalized is because your automated content could be spun, thus resulting in content that doesn’t make much sense to the reader.
Auto blogging used to be totally reliant on search engine optimization, and not on making quality blogs that people would want to visit. Remember that in blogging, the only way to get a good following is to have content that humans enjoy reading. In this way the search engines will also rank you higher, as you will be getting more visitors and your content is unique to your own blog.
You may wonder how it is possible to have an auto blogging business, but manage to keep it non spammy, and automatically getting updated with quality content. Bloggers now know that auto blogging still works well, but the rules have changed and if you want a successful auto logging business here are a few of the musts that you will need to implement into your blogging business. Some of these strategies take more time, but the results will be well worth it.
1. Proper Research
Doing proper research before opening your new blog is essential. You need to establish what niches are profitable, find keywords that are not to competitive and make sure that there are products available for your blog to promote. Without doing this initial phase properly, your blog will just get lost somewhere out there on the world wide web, and you will be lucky if anybody sees it at all in the search engines.
2. Proper Setup
When setting up a new blog, how you set it up makes all the difference to how your blog is going to perform in the long run. To make your blog search engine friendly, you need to know what pluggins to use and what type of themes will work best for your blog. This is the part that takes the most time, but is a step that should never be rushed or left out if you want to ensure the long term success of your blog.
3. Original Content
Yes, initially you will need to write some original content to get your blog going. After this there are many tools that you can use in order to get quality readable content and products added to your blog on auto pilot. I use auto blog buddy to ensure that my blogs are fed with high class quality content on a daily basis. The best thing here is that the content is reader friendly and optimized according to your instructions.
4. Getting Your Blog Seen
If you have done the first three steps correctly, the search engines will do most of the work for you here. You may need to tweak this a bit in the beginning to make sure that your blog gets off on the right footing, but after the initial stages, you will start getting traffic from the search engines, providing you have been thorough in your setup.
A successful blog will make $40 or more every month, so it is well worth the effort to make sure you know all the rules to setting up your auto blogging business.
