linksCreating a successful business online might require a lot of effort and determination, but it is nevertheless a worthwhile option for the serious entrepreneur nowadays. A whole lot has changed in the last 5 to 10 years, particularly as we now have come to be a far more connected society on the whole. Now, it’s not a question of whether or not you should consider creating a website to support your business goals, it is a question of making sure that it’s up and running and as powerful a marketing force as it can be, if you are going to make it whatsoever.

There still is, to a certain degree, a certain amount of mystique attached to internet marketing and marketing any company on the web. We all know that a website is our vehicle, our shop window to the Internet world, but we need to make sure that people are very aware about its presence. Until we get traffic to the website and ensure that that traffic is focused and most likely motivated to buy our product or service, then we will certainly not be successful.

There are a number of various ways to promote your website online. To consider one of the best article writing for backlinks is actually the most proven and is accepted by nearly every internet expert as a foundation of your plan.

When you write content articles not only are you supplying information regarding a product or service you indicate that you’re an authority, simultaneously. The submission of these articles, to the right sites, helps to ensure that your “message” is viewed by individuals who are interested in your goods, most likely. Not simply do they notice your existence and your tendency to assist them, but they are able to follow a link to your website through the all-important backlink.

We have to focus on backlinks in SEO technique management, as the search engines put enormous emphasis on the level of quality and amount of backlinks that point to your site. After all, there is only so much that you can do with on-page optimization to project your site as purposeful and beneficial. Presuming that a majority of internet marketers will pay very good attention to this “on page” optimization, search engines like Google understand that they need to use alternative methods to differentiate among internet websites and to decide which ones are right.

For this reason you need to focus on a technique for creating backlinks to your site, in addition to your content material development and distribution activities. You must be capable to have backlinks to your site from alternative sites, in as natural and sensible a manner as possible.

There used to be a time when the sheer number of links would matter, but today the search engines are quite effective at interpreting where the link came from and whether it makes logical sense for that link to exist, or not.

Rather than apply a shotgun way of collecting backlinks, you now must ensure that the site supplying the hyperlink is highly relevant to yours, as in any other case the search engines like Google are quite as likely to penalize you, rather than allowing you to profit.

linkbuildingEver since the dawn of Google there has been a single constant of SEO and that is that we must build links. Quite simply, when you put all the other minutiae aside, links are what make the difference between a #1 ranking and search engine obscurity.

Naturally, then, when Google first pioneered this thing that we call “Page Rank,” the world of SEO quickly adopted it as the litmus against which all potential link prospects should be measured…

Today

The thing is, Google has gotten a little more sophisticated these days. Links still matter, no doubt about it, but how much each link matters has become a complex thing indeed. So, the question arises then: Is page rank still the best thing to consider when doing your own link building? I say perhaps not.

The Dreaded Panda

If you know anything at all about SEO then I will assume you have heard of the recent “Panda Update.” In simple terms Google has declared a new effort in the war against spam.

Video: http://videos.sitepronews.com/video/4652/Google-FarmerPanda-Update-Whitelists

Content farms are the primary targets, and for this reason, many big sites with less than great content have been slapped back down the rankings. But the real casualties as far as I can see are not restricted just to these “farmers”…

For every content farm that’s been all but eradicated from the index, there are probably hundreds or even thousands of links which effectively don’t even count anymore.

That’s right, if you have been overdoing it on the article submissions etc… there’s a good chance that many of your links are almost worthless now. It’s the link builders equivalent of a stock market crash.

What Google Wants

The simplest way to figure out what Google really looks for in a link is to think about what Google wants to achieve. After all, as Matt Cutts put it in one of his videos on webmaster help:

“Webmasters should be chasing after what the user wants (rather than just chasing the algorithm).”

Video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IdmzKzuXurY

The Ideal Scenario

What Google really dreams of (I wonder if it has started to dream
yet…?) is that we, as web masters, simply focus on building better sites and focusing our marketing efforts on our users and not on what the algorithm wants.

Logically then, Google is going to try to single out the pages which are popular with the humans who are viewing them. As a corollary to this, wouldn’t it make sense that Google would also care more about links which are more important to the user too?

So if not page rank…

How can you tell then which links you should and shouldn’t bother with? If you can’t chase after that old idol of page rank, then what should you look for in a link?

The answer is simple: Imagine for a minute that Google didn’t exist (scary thought right?), and for that matter search engines in general were unheard of… How are you going to get free traffic to your website now?

That’s right, logically, shouldn’t the most important links be the ones which you would build even if you didn’t care about SEO? i.e. the ones which will bring you the most traffic?

Summary

Link building has been heading this way for a while, and OK we’re not quite there yet, but logically; if a link gets you oodles of relevant traffic, that has to be considered a good link right?

Let’s stop chasing this silly algorithm and adding more and more useless content and poor quality links to the internet. Let’s start focusing on getting more traffic and happier users – Google is bound to catch up with us before too long!

linkbuildingIt is essential that you take time to understand the effectiveness of correctly undertaken search engine optimization for your online marketing strategy as this will be the foundation on which you can attract a flood of targeted traffic to your website. As with everything, there are right and wrongs ways of doing this but if you are willing to take on the challenge, the results will be worth it.

Link building should form the basis for making your website popular in the eyes of the search engines. When other websites link to your website, the search engines take that as a vote for the relevancy, and more importantly, the quality of the content that it contains. But don’t be tempted to take shortcuts, using unethical means to increase the number of links back to your website too quickly. You could run the risk of being blacklisted by the search engines, thus wasting the time and effort that you put in to developing your online business.

Never forget that relevancy is very important when placing links. The value of a link is greatly enhanced if it is on a page containing content that is relevant to your website. When adding a link, always ensure you are placing it within the content of a page. A great example of this is a high ranking relevant forum within your niche. Make a comment on a thread or start a new one and ensure there is a link back to a specific page within your website where perhaps the reader can source further information. Note that the link should take the reader to more content and should not just be a link to a product.

Another simple SEO tip is to ensure that the link back to your website is from a site that is trusted, high ranking and complements your offering. So how do you do this? The wrong way is to ask “will you share a link with me?”. The answer will most likely be “no” but, if you offer original, exclusive and relevant content, then the other website owner may at least consider your request. Just remember, there is always a high demand for quality content from other website and blog owners and their sites can be a great source of targeted traffic for you.

Now here is a little comment about page rank. Why go to all the bother of undertaking this online business strategy if you are just wanting to get links from any website? The key point that you must focus on is to target websites that have a high page rank for particular keywords or keyword phrases. If you can get just one link pointing back from a high ranking website, then this will be far more valuable than having one hundred links back from a variety of websites that are of dubious value and quality. So the next time you see an offer to get thousands of links back to your website, ask yourself the question of where these links will be placed and what relevancy and value will
they bring to your website.

A fourth SEO tip for your online business strategy is the use of anchor text. This is where you pick a keyword from the content that you have written related to the content subject and create a hyperlink back to your website or blog that includes that keyword. This link should be identified by the color blue and, when clicked on, take the reader to the page on your website that contains more relevant content. From there you can inform and educate further and perhaps provide a solution to the visitor in the form of a product or service.

The anchor text that you use should always appear natural in that it should flow when being read. There is nothing worse than well written content being interrupted by wrongly placed anchor text that has been squeezed in and which detracts from the natural reading flow. One point to note is that you should avoid using the same anchor text again and again because the search engines could well penalize you. An article you have written can be very well optimized if it has, say, no more than two anchor texts that read naturally with two similar but not exact keywords or phrases being used.

The four SEO backlink tips noted above should give you a competitive edge over the vast majority of other website owners in your niche. It may take some time and effort to implement them, but the rewards will be recognizable in terms of increased targeted traffic and a higher page ranking for your website or blog. The search engines will recognize the relevancy of your site for the keywords and phrases that you choose and this will be backed up by the valuable links, or votes, that are pointing back to yor site from other high ranking and relevant websites.

Tlinkbuildingwo months ago I was struggling to index one of my new video sites; the more quality links I put to my site, the more I went down in the Google rankings. It was the first time I experienced the hammer of Google.

I am a website builder not a SEO expert. All my knowledge about SEO comes from eBooks’ and tips from experts. Several of them always told me that “No Follow Links” didn’t had any effect in the Google algorithm. Almost all my SEO efforts were always concentrated in getting Do Follow Links.

To my bad luck, I was so wrong!

First let’s define what is a non follow link. In a very basic and simple way, is an HTML attribute that tells the search engines that one particular link shouldn’t influence the website rankings of help with his indexing.

During my ranking battle with Google, I read a very exciting E Book from Josip Barbaric. He was the light in my path. His approach on No Follow Link was very different. To him No follow Links were essential for a good Google ranking. The logic is very easy to understand.

The Google algorithm takes links as a vote of trust from the users. If the quality of the links is good, Google increase his trust in your site. But you must be very careful in how you get those links. If you practice the conventional SEO strategies your goal is getting links, links and more links, but Google don’t only evaluate the number of links. They also evaluate how you get those links.

When a website doesn’t uses SEO techniques but has a good Google ranking, the quality of the content is the key. Visitors find this content relevant to their search and from time to time they link or trust in the website making a recommendation or review via social bookmarking, social media, web 2.0, etc. Almost all this social sites uses non follow links and the visitors establish the links in a natural and organic way.

Blog owners could use the site content because is good and webmasters establish links to the site because of its quality. This visitors and users don’t see if they are establishing a non follow or a do follow link. They only recommend the site using their preferred method. If you think with this kind of logic then you can understand the Google algorithm.

You must establish a good number of do follow links to your site, but you have to consider to establish non follow links too and this link placement must be organic. Never establish 100 links (do follow or non follow) in one week and then nothing for the other week. Google is going to punish you.

In my experience, the best way to establish non follow links is using social media and bookmarking sites. I personally recommend social marker since you can establish a nice number of links in minutes. Almost all the sites that are listed in social marker (approximately 60%) have the non follow attribute. After my video money making site got several non follow links the Google rankings were better. I conclude that you most consider the placement of non follow links in your SEO strategy as an essential part of your success.

linkbuildingIt is common knowledge that to survive in online business these days, you must be able to offer something of value, Free to your site visitors. I am not referring to give away bonuses but to items you feature on your website to attract and retain visitors. These can be in the form of “special posts” which are designed for link baiting purposes.

Depending on the success you achieve with your link baiting, you may graduate from offering this link bait Free to either using it as a means of generating a list by requiring sign ups or even eventually turn it into a paid tool/service.

What should this link baiting tool/service comprise of?

This is where I find that most relatively new marketers get it wrong. They seem to always indulge in “taking coal to newcastle.”

What do I mean by this?

There is already a preponderance of certain types of Free items on the internet. This includes things like e-books, newsletters etc. Why not give something unique and use it as a link bait to attract visitors and self-generating and perpetuating backlinks?

Also, you cannot effectively compete with the “Gurus” and big companies as a small business owner in terms of quality and quantity when it comes to offering free common items such as newsletters, e-books etc.

When trying to decide what your link bait should be, fall back on your areas of strength – that is, areas where you have a comparative advantage over others.

For link baiting to be valuable and sought after, it must be comprised of the following:

* Can not easily be replicated by other webmasters. This must mean it must involve some special skill, work and time. The more of these it involves in most cases, the more you separate yourself from the pack and the more effective the link baiting becomes.

I’ll give you some examples.

Traffic Hoopla’s Hit Exchange Reports:

Since 2002 (Yes, before TrafficHoopla.com), this site has consistently published what has become the most popular, and most respected testing report on manual hit exchange advertising.

It is called the Hit Exchange Report, now an exclusive of Hoopla Pro Membership, published every Tuesday, without exception, no missed issues, ever.

Extrapolating from the above, the key features of good link baiting come to light – that is uniqueness, involving time and effort, skill as well as areas of comparative advantage.

Directory Submission Software:

There is this IMT Directory submission software just released in BETA to members of the famous internet marketing forum – Warrior Forum. I specifically noted the Alexa Rating of the webmaster’s forum on which it is hosted as about 60,000 at the time of release barely a month ago. As of today, the Alexa Rating of the forum is 15,615. What a nose-dive within so short a period of time, thanks to the “link baiting” tool.

It must have taken the originator quite sometime, effort and skill to develop the product but he is now beautifully harnessing the benefits.

Free WordPress Themes:

This is another example. When programmers design WordPress themes and give them away for free, what do you think they are doing? Being foolish or playing father Christmas? Certainly not. They insert their links in these themes and use it as a perfect link baiting tool.

Top Article Directories:

This is one of my own link baiting tools/service. I have identified my area of strength as management accounting which ordinarily I use to carry out research and provide accounting data for management decision-taking.

I have deployed this skill in gathering data, analyzing, summarizing and presenting information for the use of other webmasters as a link bait.

Within barely a few weeks of the post, my targeted keyword phrase – “top article directories” is already ranking as no. 2 on page 1 for that term and has been responsible for a large chunk of traffic to my website.

Of course, my backlinks for that post have gone viral and I just keep seeing one backlink or the other added on a daily basis even without any effort on my part.

In summary, link baiting is a very effective strategy for generating massive traffic and viral backlinks.

linkbuildingThere’s a lot of confusion about link cloaking. The term itself sounds suspicious, like it’s a black hat method of marketing or a way to disguise your identity. The fact of the matter is, it is nothing like that. What it is is something that any internet marketer should be aware of and use, for a variety of reasons.

When you have an affiliate relationship, you install widgets or code to your affiliate ads. That way, when people click on the link, they are directed to the affiliate site. Your details are embedded in the link, so, in theory at least, you should always get the commission on the sale. If your link is not cloaked, however, many things can go wrong.

The very customers who should be grateful for your information about a product or service occasionally think they are being clever by removing your affiliate ID from the link. They falsely think they will get a better deal that way. They won’t. All they will be doing is denying you your well-earned commission.

Secondly, sophisticated hackers can use the information on your link to steal your commissions. The commission gets paid, but not to you. While hackers are usually trolling for high traffic affiliate sites and usually are savvy enough to steal only a portion of sales, even small enterprises are at risk.

Link cloaking substitutes a unique URL in place of the one you have been given and then redirects back to your affiliate link without revealing it to the user. By cloaking the link, you have accomplished a number of things.

The first thing that happens is that there is no longer an affiliate ID for your unscrupulous customer to remove. In fact, that rarely happens, but why risk it? Besides, a lot of potential customers get suspicious when they see those strange looking links. They can make you look bad in their eyes. Your cloaked link gives you authority and legitimacy in their eyes. You deserve your good reputation, so why not do everything in your power to preserve it?

Most importantly, your link is now invulnerable to hackers. They have been denied a vital part of your personal information if your link is cloaked.

As you can see, link cloaking has nothing to do with shady black hat marketing techniques. On the contrary, it is a legitimate tool you can use to protect yourself and enhance your online credibility. If you do not cloak your links, in fact, it makes you appear amateurish in the eyes of both your customers and the companies you are affiliated with.

Many internet marketers take it one step further and create an iframe page on their website. This is a page that looks exactly like the page that the customer will be directed to when they click on the link. In the eyes of the customer, this assures them that you have a direct and legitimate connection with the company.

If there is any doubt left in your mind, simply ask the company with which you are affiliated. They will always appreciate the fact that you respect their policies, even if they say they do not allow it. Usually, though, they will encourage you to do so.

It is easy to learn more about how you can increase visits to your website and click-through traffic using link cloaking. When you use a conversion tracking system, you will be able to improve your marketing and advertising efforts and increase your thriving business. Visit us at viraltrafficpython.com.

linkbuildingYou have finally set up your own site & are eagerly waiting for your business to flourish. But have you given a thought to how users online will know a site like yours exists? Well, if no one knows your site exists how would you sell your product or get more clients? The entire e-business world relies on one simple thing to gain visibility and get more profit. Yes, search engines like Yahoo, Google and Bing determine which sites are visible and which are not. And for a search engine to place your website at the top, you need to have good backlinks.

The high page rank that you crave for is attainable only if you have done your homework and set up good backlinks. Making your site appear in the top pages of a search engine requires a great deal of backlinks which will ultimately ensure that you have traffic in your website. And the procedure is simple. There are many legal ways to create backlinks to your site. First you have to learn how to create a backlink. An anchor text is all you need. It should look something like this:

<a href=”your” website url>Your keywords here</a>

Now let’s take a look at the various ways you can create backlinks to your website-

• Submitting articles to directories:
This is one of the most trusted methods of getting great backlinks to your site. All you have to do is write an article with good content and submit it to the many online article submission directories. While you are at it here are some points to look out for-
1. Add Variety: Content is king. So make sure that you don’t just submit the same articles to every directory. Chances are there that the search engines will mark them as ‘duplicate content’ and all your hard work will prove futile. So have good content and variety in your articles.
2. Submit Manually: True time is money, but to save time don’t get lured by the many ‘automatic ‘submission software. Instead submit the articles manually and only to the relevant directories where you know the search engines will look first.
3. Always Link To Your Site: Make sure that your backlinks contain your own website URL and also throw in a keyword that which in turn links to that specific keyword related page in your site.

• Using Social Media:
Make use of social media like Facebook & Twitter to spread the word. Upload videos of your site and add them to YouTube channels. Or you can also use your articles in an innovative way by converting them to slideshows which can be submitted to many websites. Also posting to forums in communities helps spread the word. It’ll surely generate more traffic to your site.

• Posting to Blogs & Sites:
With the huge no. of blogs that are being created every minute, you can surely link back to your site by submitting the backlinks to the blog with keywords that matches with yours. Use the many blogs and websites that allow you to submit your articles too and thus give you good backlinks in return. You can even make use of Google keywords alert that will alert you whenever a new blog comes up that has keywords useful for your site.

• Link Exchange sites:
If time isn’t what you have in plenty then worry not. Many link exchange sites have now come up that assure you a higher page rank when you submit your links to them. But make sure you opt for sites that have a good PR & are relevant to your keywords. And of course you need to shell out a few bucks too for this service.

• Using Comments Effectively:

A simple yet tricky method to link back to your site is to effectively use the comments section that you find in many blogs & websites. All you have to do is give a good comment and add the anchor text to it and now you have another backlink! But be careful not to end up marked as spam. Make sure that the site or blog is closely related to your comments & link. Don’t just go about commenting on home loans when the blog is about culinary skills!

So now that you have successfully added backlinks everywhere, watch the traffic flow to your site & get a better page rank. But don’t rest for too long as you need to keep updating and adding more links to ensure the PR stays good. Keep abreast of the latest changes so you wouldn’t lag behind when it comes to popularizing your site.

linkbuilding2One of the toughest areas of gaining publicity for a weblog is ranking in nature for targeted key phrases. If you have only started your weblog newly, you are likely competing alongside weblogs which have been around for many years, with countless entries already listed and ranking high inside the major search engines.

It may be daunting in the beginning – a thousand-entry disadvantage right from the beginning – but with the proper blogging tactic it is potential to outrank any older competitors with only a fraction as numerous posts and backlinks.

How? It is all about quality, and the tipping point. If you maintain a very high quality weblog, your posts are picked up much more often than the ones of a relatively high quality weblog. The online audience is discriminator for that last 10% that bridges the gap between the good and the excellent.

Good content? It will go for miles, making the best way through social media sites plus perhaps several social bookmarking services.

Excellent content? You will rapidly see good – high quality articles and blogposts rank at the frontpage of social bookmarking sites, attracting much more traffic than their mildly successful competitors. Building natural backlinks is about that one thing: quality. Like several search engine optimization pursuits, it is potential to increase your way to the top spot with low quality work, but it places you in a position that is very difficult to maintain.

Low quality work just goes so far, particularly when it is spread sparingly. Give it some thought when it comes to a highly trained group of troopers facing off against an untrained military. One has influence in numbers, but is rapidly spread apart and controlled. The other is powerful not only in mass but in relatively small quantities.

While the massive military can manage ground, it is rapidly pushed away by the good – high quality troopers. Take care of your content in the same way. Whenever you are looking to get backlinks, concentrate on using good quality content to achieve your target. While countless low quality weblog posts spread over various weblogs can provide your site several linking power, they are rapidly brought down by one well-targeted opponent.

Utilize a direct, high quality method. Generate backlinks through the work of others; submit high quality content to social bookmarking sites and allow the users spread it for yourself, all through their enthusiasm.

One well written article will spread 100 times further than 10 low quality written ones, and is definitely the better backlink tactic. So next time you may need to build backlinks for your weblog or site, concentrate on the 10% content gap that actually matters. Low quality content can only be spread through brute force and ridiculous quantities of work, and is rarely a cost efficient option.
Good quality work goes far, but often falls short with regards to climbing to the top spot.

Good – high quality work may travel through social media sites, social bookmarking sites, and eventually through sheer word of mouth. That is the kind of content that builds weblog backlinks, and that is the kind of content that you need to be focusing on.

If you want to rank super-high at Google’s organic search results, you need hundreds or even thousands of highqualitybacklinks.info and highly advanced backlinking tactics that deliver proven, consistent Page #1 results. Link BuildingThere are a number of steps a webmaster can take to encourage visitors to “click” on a link or graphic located on their website. The following steps will help “get the click”…

1. Colors

Use contrasting colors for links. This makes the links easier to discern from other text on a web page. Also, avoid placing links against a patterned background, as it will make it much more difficult to read the link text. Bottom line, the link color should stand out from the rest of the web page, and be easy to locate.

2. Link Traits

Underlining is still the universal indication of a link. Using the “underline” for links will send a clear message to website visitors about which text on the webpage is just text, and which text is actually a hyper-link. And along this line of thought, you should avoid using underlining for text that is not a link, just to avoid confusion.

3. Visible

Make all the links visible. Do not hide the links or navigation on a web page. Avoid using scripting to display links, as these links will not be visible to website visitors who have turned scripting off in their browser for security reasons.

4. Textual

Text links have a higher rate of clicks than linked images. The one exception is typically a “Buy Now” button, which tends to be more effective than text-only “Buy Now” links. Keep this in mind when creating a linking scheme for your website.

5. Consistent

The location of links should be consistent as the visitor moves from page to page through your website. Do not move links around as the content of the web page changes.

6. Position

Place important links in a location that is easy for the website visitor to see without having to scroll. Position important links “above the fold” on the website.

7. Font Style & Size

In order to make links easy for the visitor to see, be sure to use a font style and size that can be easily read.

8. Graphic Links

If you use image links, the clickable graphics should be vibrant and should stand out from the other content on the page. Use bright or bold contrasting colors for the graphic. Be sure to include appropriate ALT text for each linked image, so the visitor will have an indication of the material being linked to as they move their mouse over the graphic.

9. Split-Test

Conduct split-testing by changing colors and moving links around, and then monitor and track which options and locations result in the highest number of clicks. What may seem intuitive is not always as obvious as you might think.

10. Fresh Eyes

Ask a friend or family member to navigate your website. It may surprise you to learn what they see and where they click. A fresh set of eyes will give a good indication of how others will perceive your website and the clickable content.

linking strategiesGetting a top position in the search engines is no easy task. The key to achieving this is constantly building links to your site – here are five simple strategies…

Put Pen to Paper

Whatever industry or niche you’re in, you should have an above average knowledge of that topic, so put pen to paper (or fingers to keyboard!) and write some informative short articles (300 – 500 words) that would appeal to your target market. You can either syndicate these articles through article directories, or head to the publishers and try to get them published on high ranking sites. Doing both is always a good idea. Every time your article gets published, you score free links – so get going now!

Social-ize…

Explore the realm of social bookmarking and get your links featured on as many social networks are possible. The potential for a viral linking explosion is huge in any social network, so work on a good value offer to promote to these networks (something free and useful).

Break Into the Forum Community

By registering on, and actively participating in forums that are relevant to your niche, you can quickly build up the number of backlinks to your website using your signature file (provided that they allow this and that the links are “dofollow”). Whilst the “SEO weight” of these links is debatable, you still get the benefit of publicity and who knows, you could learn a thing or two whilst online! A word of warning though – don’t spam the forums with rubbish comments purely to score backlinks to your site – you’ll get kicked out pretty quickly.

Follow Some Blogs

Blog commenting is quite a popular link building technique in the SEO community. You simply follow some popular blogs in your niche or industry, and provide constructive comment where suitable, leaving your link in the comment. Make sure that the blogs are “dofollow” type, as the “nofollow” ones are useless.

Differentiate or Die

This classic business phrase has a slightly different meaning in terms of link building. When building links (whatever method you may use), always try to differentiate your anchor text used across the web – at least to a certain degree. Having identical links and anchor text all over the web is likely to raise a brow with the search engines.

Most importantly, commit to the journey of link building.

The best link building strategy is a long term, consistent one. Set a target for how many links you want to build monthly, and aim to achieve this amount every month. Be patient and have a little faith – your hard work will be rewarded.
