SiteProNews Blogs
By Donna Gunter in Featured
It seems as though many blog readers still prefer to get blog updates via email, despite the popularity of RSS feeds, I have 21,000+ unread blog posts in my Bloglines account, so I’m definitely one of those. Since there’s no real way to track numbers through an RSS reader, I have no idea of how many people read my blog through an RSS reader. Consequently, I began to do some research on how to better harness my blog subscribers and increase my subscriber base.
Here are the 4 strategies you can implement to double the number of blog subscribers to your blog:
1. Blog newsletter.
Your blog’s success depends largely on your ability to drive visitors to it to read your posts, click on your ads, and purchase your products and services.
When you have a blog ezine, you can combine the best of email and RSS and then covert the RSS feed of your blog automatically to an ezine. You can schedule your blog newsletters to publish on a regular basis, or as you publish new posts. You can also track web site clicks using your own domain name, and see who clicks your links and opens your messages. The most powerful feature is the ability to segment subscribers based on who clicked (or didn’t click) on a link and send followup emails.
2. Blog subscribe page.
Just like the subscribe (or squeeze) page for your ezine, your blog needs a squeeze page, as well, to sell visitors on the value of your blog.
Some visitors will get to your subscribe page from one of your posts, and others will arrive there from your signup form, where you link to your subscribe page for people who want more info before deciding to subscribe. Throw in a free gift for subscribing.
3. Opt-in form at end of each post.
At the end of each post, place an opt-in form for added effectiveness. If someone reads to the end of an article, she must have been particularly impressed with the content. So, why not make it easy for her to subscribe at the end of the post?
4. Share function.
When you ask your current subscribers to share your blog, you’re likely to get new subscribers just like your current ones, who then share your blog with other people in your target market. A quick way to do this is to have a sidebar in your blog newsletter asking your readers to share the post, and then request readers to visit your blog squeeze page to receive future posts.
Those who have used these four strategies have experienced great increases in their blog subscriber numbers, even though these strategies aren’t widely discussed. Discover how your blog readership grows by implementing just one of these strategies today!

Twelve Simple Ways to Generate More Blog Traffic
By Jessica Swanson in Featured
Imagine that you’ve taken the giant leap to start a blog to bring more brand awareness and exposure to your small business.
You’ve taken all the necessary steps to build your blog platform and now comes the day when you make your very first blog post. You spend hours crafting a post that is educational, inspirational and positions you as an expert in your field. You are as proud of this post as if it truly were your own flesh and blood. And, most of all you can’t wait to share it with the world.
So, you hit “publish” and wait for your readers to react to your nuggets of wisdom. However, the waiting is an endless ordeal.
Why aren’t you generating any comments? Why aren’t people emailing you thrilled that you have shared your expertise with them?
It’s called “lack of traffic” and if there’s no traffic to your blog, no one will ever see it.
So, how can you begin enticing readers to visit your blog? Here are twelve quick ways to generate a flow of non-stop blog traffic:
1. Create Great Content
Obviously, this goes without saying. But, your content needs to educate, entertain, inspire or offer a solution to your readers’ problems. You want to try to accomplish at least one of these tasks with every blog post.
10 Tricks To Increase Blog Traffic
By Andrew Holtom in Featured
Blogs take commitment and time to build, without traffic it can be a lonely uphill struggle. Implement these tricks to increase blog traffic on your site.
So you’ve got your blog running, but you are waking up day after day to no traffic. What has gone wrong? This is a common complaint for many website owners. Read on for methods to increase blog traffic.
There are many methods to apply to increase blog traffic. Two mistakes that newbie bloggers will make, for example, is not providing top notch quality posts and not spending time building relationships. Without good content, there is not much reason for people to hang around, and without relationship building, people aren’t so likely to return.
Here are some actions to take that will improve your traffic flow.
1. Good content takes time to research and to write. Build time into your weekly to do list for this purpose.
2. Spend time networking. This can be done via social networking tools such as LinkedIn or Facebook. Alternatively you can network by commenting on other blogs. By adding pertinent and relevant comments that add value, you can build up a presence on other blogs in your niche and the readers of your comments will click on your link. If they don’t, you have at least built a back-link to your site, to help with your search engine marketing.
3. Offer free giveaways. Again, these need to be of good content that people want to read. The best giveaways provide unique and useful information that cannot be found elsewhere. You can create this content by running a survey, by offering your unique opinion on your industry (stay polite).
4.Learn about SEO. Yes, SEO takes time. It’s not even so much the application of it. It needs to be learned, then you need to stay on top of the latest changes and methods, as it isn’t something static with Google changing their ranking criteria at least a couple of times a year. This is essential to increase blog traffic.
5. Apply SEO. This might mean optimizing graphics, titles and tags on your blog. Spend time researching each keyword up front for the best results. Use SEO plug-ins and URLs to aid your blog in getting found.
6. Invite guest posters. Guest bloggers will often pull some of their own audience over to your blog for their post. If you invite bloggers from your niche, you will have access to the same market.
7. Don’t advertise. By adding adverts all around your blog, it can often lower the tone. Wait until you have a popular blog until you start adding them.
8. Keep comments closed. That is until you have got several RSS subscribers and regular readers. Nothing looks more sad and lonely than a blog without any comments. Keep your anonymity private until you are popular.
9. Share as much as you can. This might even mean revealing some of your own business secrets. The more you share, the more you will be rewarded with links and traffic.
10. Write pillar posts. These are the posts that really are worthy of getting a lot of attention. Perhaps a major list or a post that describes step-by-step procedure on how to do something. These are generally unique and take more than an hour to create. Make the most of them by bookmarking them on Digg and promoting them on your social networking accounts.
With so much competition out there, blogging does need to planned and implemented with quality posts. Before you know it, you will have implemented the steps required to increase blog traffic on your site.

How to Get the Maximum Number of Links to Your Blog
By Debbie Everson in Featured
It is every blogger’s dream: to be read by as many people as possible. But it’s not as simple as it sounds. Several things have to fall into place to capture that wide audience.
First is to get the word out that your blog exists, second is to hold visitors’ interest in what they are reading, third is to make them return for more, and fourth is for them to start referring you to others.
That is why when SEO marketers sit down with blog owners to talk about increasing audience viewership, one of the strategies they instantly recommend is to build as many links to the site as possible.
Just how does link building equate to a wide captive audience?
The equation goes something like this: links to your blog from other sites generate referral traffic and increase your blogs’s Google page ranking.
The former is possible when users go to another site and click on the link from that site to your blog. The second is when Google’s search algorithms consider the links to your site as a vote of referral from the other sites, taking that to mean that you are a site of substance, thereby elevating your page rank. The higher the page rank of your blog means that when users search via Google, your blog will be one of the first ten sites listed on the first page.
Sources of Blog Links
When you commit to link building, there are many sources where you can get these links. Below are a few of them:
- Common-niche blogs, websites, forums, and communities. Visit these sites and drop a comment or two in forum messages and posts. Be helpful by answering questions or offering information. Sign your posts on these sites with a link to your blog site. As your presence in these sites is established, so will your blog site generate more traffic.
- Social networking sites. StumbleUpon and Digg have proven track records in generating traffic to sites, so take advantage of this. Consider other sites such as Facebook and Twitter as well.
- Directory submissions. This technique is still good for link building, but you have to be careful to submit your site to quality directory sites only, because there are many directories out there that turn out to be mere link farms.
More Tools and Tips for Link Building
Link sources may be there for the taking, but the key to success is in actually keeping in mind the following rule-of-thumb:
- Link building takes time. Many sites require webmaster’s approval for links to be established. And with Google suspicious of a sudden increase in links, a slow but sure approach gets the links in the long run.
- Link building means never having to give up. Not all link-building efforts strike gold – moderators and webmasters may disapprove of your posts, or remove your link signatures, or worse, consider you spam. Continue your link-building and don’t get discouraged.
- Link to quality sites. Although they are more discriminating in whom to give their links, links from quality sites are worth more than low-ranked sites.
- Create quality content. Interesting and useful content gives your link requests a higher chance of being accepted and your blog linked to by other sites.
Successful link-building for your blog generates referral traffic and increases your blogs’s Google page ranking. The result? A bigger blog readership than ever before.

5 Things Bloggers Shouldn’t Do
By James Junior in Featured
There are a lot of articles and blog posts on the web that will present a list of things you should do in order to run a successful blog, this is not one of those articles. I want to discuss some of the things you shouldn’t do, opinions may differ but most of these you will likely agree with.
1. Don’t call yourself, “An Authority” or, “Expert” on your blog’s subject.
If you run a great blog and seem to have a great answer for everything, then yes, you are likely an expert or authority; but the minute that you announce to your readers that you are, you become a jerk instead. Think about it, the people who we admire the most are those that are modest and in denial about their own talents, whether they fake the denial or not, it is the cool thing to do. Same thing goes for heroes right? When was the last time some guy pulled a kid from a burning building, and when the reporter calls him a hero he says, “Yup, absolutely, I am incredible, aren’t I?” Never, that’s when. Anyone in that position knows that they have to say, “Hero? Nah, I was just doing what anyone else would do, I ain’t no hero.” Otherwise, he would be a jerk.
2. Don’t argue with your readers.
It doesn’t matter if he is the biggest idiot in the world, and you are right as rain; you are the only one with something to lose: your readers. If you think that your content is so good that you can say whatever you want to whoever you want, then people will go out of their way to ignore your blog and tell all of their friends to do so also. Treat everyone with the same respect that you would want, even if they are wrong, it will make you look like the better of the two.
3. Don’t fail to remember your theme.
This may seem like a no-brainer, but there are so many blogs that ramble on and never recover. Please do not get the wrong idea here. If you write a blog about playing baseball, then each and every one of your posts do not have to be about baseball, but if the last twelve posts are about your mother-in-law’s divorce struggle, then you seem to have lost direction. Yes, people want to understand that you are a real person, with real problems, but unless your blog is specifically about those problems, then stick to the subject.
4. Don’t alienate the “majority.”
Now this is a big one I see continually. Please don’t think that just because two or four people want your blog to go a particular route, that ALL of your readers want it to go that way. Keep in mind, a successful blog is about pleasing the majority of your readers. Just because you have a few people who LOVE a particular type of content, it doesn’t mean that all of them do. Remember, you likely have many readers whom you will never hear from on your comments, but are extremely in to your blog. So how are you supposed to know which direction they want you to follow? Well, try using the poll feature in Blogger or WordPress, and ask your readership what they like best; you may be surprised. Also, keep a mailing list that is up to date, and ask your members for their view; most people jump at the chance to offer their voice in a matter that concerns them. Plus, it will make you look great that you are asking for their input.
5. Please do not be a rolling billboard.
Look, everybody understands that advertising is what pays the bills for a full-time blogger, but when you jam ad copy down their throat at every single turn, it gets annoying. Take care of the most vital thing, the content, and the rest will take care of itself. Yes, ads are significant, and you should optimize your ads and put a ton of work into it; just don’t be overbearing with them. They are there, people see them, and if they are interested, they will click.

How to Get Free Traffic To Your Website by Getting a Fanbase.
By Dan Dimit in Featured
I suggest that website owners use their daily life situations and turn them into some kind of lesson pertaining to whatever they’re an expert in.
When people continue to see, listen to, or read your stories you then become one of their favorite sources of “news”. This is how you can develop a following. You see this on youtube’s happyslip, lonelygirl15, and whatthebuck…there’s hundreds of them!! Anyone can model how they do it!!
For example of a great story made from a life lesson, the other day I was speaking to my sister-in-law. She asked me what I do for a living now. I told her I help people with their home businesses–Internet marketing as well as network marketing, etc. This was her reply, “You mean those pyramid thingies?!?!” So I asked, “What’s a pyramid?” She says, “Well, if you don’t know what it is, then you must not be in one, but it’s where the guy at the top makes all the money.” To which I quipped, “Oh, you mean corporate America.” She says, “NO, I’m talking about the SCAMS where the guy at the top makes all the money and the little guys at the bottom do all the work and don’t make any money.” I explained to her that “You won’t find a bigger, more blatant scam than what goes on in Corporate America and you described it perfectly”.
She didn’t like that and she went on to tell me that what I’m doing won’t work and that I should try to find a real job. I didn’t have the heart to tell her that I make about 3 times what she does even though I don’t have nearly as much experience in this as she does in her profession. Plus, there’s the fact that I work only a few hours per day, as well as the fact that it’s about 2 in the afternoon and I’m writing this at a bench after eating lunch in a beautiful park on a nice, sunny day and I’m enjoying most of my time with those I love the most, and the least of my time with those I like the least, and she’s doing the exact opposite. AND I NEED TO GO FIND A REAL JOB?!?!
So I immediately took that life lesson and turned it into an article, a blog post, as well as a video. Of course, I then added it to a viral eBook. All in one hour, my work was done that day!! In fact, I should pay that poor woman for helping me. But pride would get in her way of taking the money as a real compensation for value she provided to me, because her mindset about money is all wrong.
Here’s another great way to get your info out, as well as having this as a compelling offer to get people to optin to your autoresponder/email campaign: Reviews and Reports
I love to do reviews of new technology and “free Reports”, etc. I do this quite often when I see new programs out there for network marketing and business opportunities, etc.
For example, I did a review (blog, article as well as video) of the iphone when it first came out and told people how great it was and that I couldn’t live without it. “After all I’m a full time, stay-at-home or work-from-anywhere entrepreneur and having the latest internet news was important.”(Oh, and by the way, if you like the idea of being able to call your own shots, financially, then head on over to (whatever website I’m promoting at that time) and I’d continue with my review.” This is a pretty easy way to get traffic to my site, even if it wasn’t exactly hitting my target market perfectly.
Here’s another easy one…I will research my competition incessantly. When I find the “newest report on MLM Scams”, etc. I’ll do reviews on those types of things, because lots of people are receiving emails with this stuff and they don’t have time to read them. Now I give them a short summary of what the info was about and they know, like and trust me. I’ve shown them that I understand what I’m talking about and now they have the scoop and they didn’t have to take the time to read it…I’m creating a following…by doing what I normally do every day anyway, with the one small extra step of writing the review of that particular ebook or report…which ingrains the info into my head further anyway, which is exactly what I want.
Money in my pocket and info in my brain all in a day’s work…I love this industry!!

How To Create A Profitable Network Marketing Blog
By Jaz Lai in Featured
Blog traffic is one of the most profitable ways to bring in network marketing leads. Here is a step by step guide on how you or anyone can setup a new blog within minutes. The Free Blog Model:
The best blog platform that you can use for the free blog model is using Blogger.com. This model is most suitable for people who are building a home business on a tight budget but is still able to get good blog traffic.
But why blogger and not the free WordPress blog? Because the administrators at WordPress are not happy with people making money with their free sub-domains so the best recommendation is to avoid using the free WordPress model (if you really want to make the best of WordPress, read the paid blog section below and see why).
Just follow the instructions on Blogger and follow their 3 easy steps – Create a Blogger account, name your blog (in other words your blog URL which will be yourblog.blogspot.com) and choose one of their generic templates for your blog.
The Paid Blog Model:
The paid blog model offers several advantages over Blogger counterparts. Namely:
(1) You have complete control over your content (and hence, your blog traffic)
(2) Your content is not owned by a third party (you have the danger of having your blogs deleted by the administrators or even a spam filer!)
(3) You have more customization power over your theme, plugins and widgets.
This step by step guide will teach you how to drive traffic to your WordPress Blogs:
(1) Make sure you look for one way links early – go and look for other MLM bloggers using Google and Technorati and offer to either promote their products on your blog or request a Blogroll exchange – remember, people tend to reciprocate once they know you have something useful that you can offer.
(2) Make sure you get some of your blog posts and rewrite them into an article format – this will not only get you traffic and rankings from article directories and Google, but you can also save time on writing an article from scratch.
(3) Submit your blog to some blog directories. Some blog directories require that you have a few blog posts up before they can approve your site – so make sure you have at least 6 posts posted.
(4) Make sure you TAG your posts with relevant keywords. These tags are picked up by the search engines and you can easily be found when people are searching for that particular keyword.
(5) Make sure you write (or outsource) good quality blog posts. You can get a lot of natural traffic through viral marketing when people start talking about your blog posts or if they give you some link love.
(6) Use link baiting strategies to promote your blog. Encourage others to link to you on your blog posts – but make sure you give them an incentive to do so.
(7) Write short press releases and submit those to prominent press release sites. Some press release sites get approved very quickly and you might even see links pointing to your sites appearing on Google News.
(8) Tap into Web 2.0 sites like creating Squidoo Lenses or Hub pages.
Once you’re done, you will be ready to monetize blog traffic and this will work even long after you stop writing content.
Now that your blog is up and running, we will discuss about the best ways to structure your content and how to make money from it.
Firstly, you must drive traffic to your blog. But what are the best ways to drive quick traffic to your blog? Your answer lies in SEO or Search Engine Optimization. (PPC or pay per click is good as well, but you must have a way to track your costs).
Blogs and SEO are inseparable. It is well known that normal websites might take awhile to rank but it is more long term to rank. On the other hand, blog traffic is very easy to rank, but quick to drop. Since we need to make money fast, it is always better to get traffic fast and show some results.
Go to http://www.freekeywords.wordtracker.com/ or https://adwords.google.com/select/KeywordToolExternal
Type in a keyword of your choice – it could be any keyword from network marketing lead generation, Xango, Amway, Zrii, Herbalife or even network marketing tips. Look for keywords with a high search count and blog about it!
Make sure you include the keywords in your blog post title and 2-3 in the body text and it will start picking up search engine traffic. Be sure to target long tail keywords as well (long tail keyword examples: driving traffic for network marketing, network marketing for moms… remember that lots of long tail keywords will get you more traffic combined compared to the main page of a blog).
Next, you need to select a blog theme that is quite suitable for your network marketing company. The best way to go about it is to choose a theme color that matches your network marketing company’s main website as much as possible to give it a matching feel that is like your company (gives the readers the feel that it is like an authority site).
You can also get traffic from Google AdWords. Although it is costly, you can get a rough idea how the traffic responds to your offers if you have a landing page or a lead capture page setup on your blog. As long as you get about 200 clicks, you will gauge how the conversion or opt-in rate for your blog is like and you can tweak from there.
Lastly, you need to find a few ways for monetization.
Here are the 3 best ways to monetize:
(1) Sell your own information product at the front end. You can write a ten page report (or outsource it at http://www.elance.com) that shares information on your network marketing company’s product. Use it as a tool to build relationships or sell it inexpensively ($7 or $10) for cash flow. It also brands you as an authority.
(2) Promote network marketing affiliate programs such as http://www.HowNetworkMarketingWorks.com or http://www.MagneticSponsoring.com
These programs have really good conversions (in other words, a very high chance to close sales for you) and these programs allow you to strengthen your rapport with your prospects.
(3) Promote your network marketing opportunity or product on the front end as well. With good information sites, you will have targeted visitors. Make sure your company has an affiliate link or page that will allow your customers to easily access the purchase screen.
Blogging is the 21st century way to build your network marketing business. In an age where virtually everyone you meet is a distributor of a network marketing company, you have to learn to differentiate yourself using a personalized medium.
