Improve your blogging with these tips
By Lambert Klein in Featured
When it comes to blogging, simply learning the basics isn’t enough. There are new developments each day and various ways of getting traffic to your blog are being discovered.
To stay on top, you have to be proactive and should be constantly on the look out for ways to improve your blog, your blogging skills as well as the content you put up.
There are quite a number of things that you should always watch out for so as not to let these parts of your blog go stale. Every blog, regardless of how new or old is it, could surely benefit from an overhaul every now and then.
So you should always take time to re-evaluate your blog’s current state as well as the people who come on and read your posts. Familiarizing yourself with these ever changing aspects are both beneficial to you and the profits you would gain from your blog. So, where does one begin when it comes to a much needed blog “tune up”? Here’s a short list:
1. Make sure you are well informed about the subject you chose.
It’s always a good idea to choose a topic because you are interested in it and also know a decent amount of knowledge regarding it.
Choosing a topic just because it’s the “hottest” right now won’t help if doesn’t know a stitch about it.
If you write about something that you are personally interested in, this would eventually manifest itself in your posts and the readers would see just how well informed you are and that would make them want to read more. So make sure that you always keep your information up to date and refreshing. Don’t post the same thing that others are posting, try to be unique and you’ll see that people would prefer your blog over the others.
2. Be consistent - Again, never stray from the subject you chose for your blog. If your blog is about shoes, then don’t start posting about origami unless you can somehow connect it with shoes.
This constant changing would confuse your readers and they would eventually lose interest. Basically, they came to your blog because they want to know about the latest in shoes not because they want to learn origami. Remember that you’ve exerted quite a bit of effort in getting readers, so don’t start losing them now.
3. Make regular posts - Make sure that your blog always has new and fresh content. The more updated you are with information and news regarding your chosen subject, the more people would come to your blog to read.
Another benefit that you can get from frequent posting is that this attracts the search engines to crawl your blog for the new posts and this would subsequently boost your blog’s search engine ranking. So keep your blog well updated with fresh content everyday.
Lastly, make your posts very easy to read. Big words are great for when you are trying to impress someone with an essay but for blogs, keep the words simple and easy to understand. You don’t want your reader to start scratching their heads trying to figure out what you might be trying to say. That would make them lose interest and lose you profits as well. So keep it light and simple.

Five Newer Marketing Tactics and Five Old Tried & True
By Terri Seymour in Featured
There are numerous ways to market your business online with a lot of them being free. In this article I have detailed five of the newer marketing methods as well as five of the old tried & true methods that still can do a lot for your business!
Five Newer Marketing Methods
Video Marketing - Video marketing is a powerful and versatile tool for your online business. You can introduce yourself, detail what you offer on your site, demonstrate your products/services, offer free instructional videos, etc. Use your imagination and propel your business forward!
Online Radio - Radio has always been a powerful medium and it continues to be on the internet. Make yourself available to do online radio interviews. This is very cost effective and can get you and your business established all over the world. One place you can find online radios shows is the BusinessResourcesPodcastDirectory.com
RSS Feeds - RSS meaning Really Simple Syndication is an easy way for you to distribute your articles, blogs, and other content all over the net. You need to set up your feed and then maybe start with a weekly article until you get more used to it. You need to promote your feed so people subscribe to it and you can also make your feed available to other websites for more exposure. One good tool for getting started is the RSS Channel Editor.
Social Networking - This marketing method has hit the internet like a tornado! There are numerous social networking sites such as Facebook, Twitter, Ryze, StumbleUpon, LinkedIn and many others. These sites allow you to open an account, add your info and network with thousands of other people. They can really bring attention to your website/business.
Blogs - Although blogs have been around for awhile, they are one of the newer online marketing techniques. Blogging is becoming a very popular method of publishing as it does not require any technical knowledge and it can greatly increase the popularity of your site. Some blogs allow the visitors to post and enter their thoughts and opinions as well.
A blog keeps people coming back to your site and a blog is also very helpful with the search engines because of the ever changing content. Search engines love new content! A good free blogging tool is WordPress.org.
Five Old Tried & True Marketing Techniques
Article Marketing - Article marketing is a powerhouse technique in the marketing world! Although, it has been around for many years, it has not lost any of its effectiveness. Writing and submitting articles to ezine publishers, website owners and article directories is still one of the best ways to build your business.
Ad Swaps - I have participated in ad swaps since the beginning of my internet marketing career over ten years ago. Not only is this a good way to get free advertising, but you also make new business contacts and friends as well. Find quality ezines and contact the publisher, asking them if they would be interested in a joint venture. Swap top sponsor ads, solo mailings, etc. Search ezine directories and search Google as well. There are thousands of ezines being published so there is no shortage of quality publications for ad swapping!
Link Exchanges - Link exchanges is something you hear conflicting reports about. Some people think they don’t do any good - some people think they are only effective if done a certain way, etc. In my opinion, link exchanges can be very effective if done consistently. Exchange with quality sites that have a well-organized and categorized links section. Don’t exchange with “link farms” or sites that just have one big page loaded with every kind of link imaginable. Be selective and don’t offer your link to just any site.
Ezine Advertising - Ezine advertising can provide your business with a substantial boost! Finding quality ezines to advertise in can be one of the harder steps of ezine advertising. After you find the ezines you want, subscribe to them to get an idea of the consistency, reliability and quality of the ezines. Make sure the ezine is mailed out when it is supposed to be and that it contains quality content.
You do not want to advertise in a big list of ads. This will lower the value of your ad by quite a bit. Does the ezine contain feedback from the other subscribers and if so, what do the subscribers say? These are all ways to indicate whether the ezine publisher is trusted by the subs and whether or not you can trust and believe in the publisher. This is VERY important!
Once you make the decision and choose an ezine or two to advertise in, you must write an effective ad.
The main points to remember when writing an ad are:
- Keep it brief
- Grab their attention in the headline
- Emphasize the benefits to the purchaser.
Yahoo Groups and Message Boards - Visit message boards regularly and join some good email discussion groups. Networking on boards and groups can do a lot for your business but you must follow the guidelines for posting and offer help and advice as often as you can. Don’t just post your business info and then never come back. This will just brand you as a spammer!
By working on these marketing techniques consistently and efficiently, you are sure to build your business and your reputation which in turn will increase your income. These days, that is one goal we all need to obtain! Much success to you!

Benefits of niche blogging
By Lambert Klein in Featured
You’ve heard about it, niche blogging, but you still can’t see what benefits there are to gain from doing it. I think it is a well known fact within the blogging world that when it comes to turning your blog into something profitable, you would need to target your niche markets.
But some people have gone beyond niche markets and also emphasized the importance of locating sub-niches that also have great potential for being profitable. But first, let’s recap and talk about what a niche is.
A niche is a target market that has good profit potentials and isn’t saturated by your competitors. The idea is to find a market that not only interests you but also one that is unique, allowing you to stand out more.
But of course, you would also want it to be profitable. Meaning, there has to be a decent number of people interested in that niche as well. After all, you are blogging for profit.
Niche blogging would also make your blog more interactive as you get people who are genuinely interested in reading about what you have on your blog. This open discussion would also help in making your blog grow even further.
Niche blogs are also more alive due to this interactivity between you and your readers that other sites don’t offer. This would help you get to know the people who go on your blog even more and learn about the things they like.
Knowing your readers would also help you in improving the kind of articles you have on your site as well as choosing the kind of products to promote.
In no time, you will see the benefits of having this communication with your readers as more and more people come onto your blog. As long as you keep putting up informative and relevant articles, the number would just increase.
So make sure that you keep the articles entertaining and don’t mix it around too much. Keep your blog updated and try to always be ahead when it comes to news. Once people realize that they can rely on your blog for the latest on whatever topic it is you’re writing about, they are sure to come back each and every time slowly building you a loyal reader base.
Another thing that every good blogger knows is to stick to one topic and don’t mix a number of different subjects in one post.
This would distract your reader from the actual point of your post and eventually make them lose interest.
The key to a successful blog is to have the ability to keep the reader interested even when you are writing about just one topic. So choose one that you are very passionate about so that you’ll find various things to write about which are all relevant to your niche.
Do write with passion as this would manifest itself in the articles you write. An article that is rushed would most likely end up not as interesting as an article that is well researched and well thought out. So when your write for your blog, make sure that you provide relevant and up to date information without becoming boring.

Blog Marketing - Does it work?
By John Hutchinson in Featured
Blog marketing. What is it? Well a blog is sort of like a website that you can get for free. If you can make frequent posts to it with original, fresh content, then you might attract visitors and search engine interest. This gives you an opportunity to promote your business opportunity.
There are millions of blogs online today with seemingly hundreds starting up each week. My question is why?
Answer. Money! Thousands of people think blogging is the magic bullet they have been missing to make their online businesses work. In fact they are encouraged in this by many experts online. They have all started to ‘blog for money’. You see, blogs are so simple to start that a pre-teen could start one.
However, there is a downside to blogging. It takes a lot of time to keep up regular posts and drive traffic to your blog, and a lot of effort to convert some of these into paying customers.
After a few days you begin to realize that the money is not flowing in. You have probably spent a lot of time working on your new blog and have not made a single penny. It’s about now that you realize that this is about hard work.
If you are not making money and you put a value on your time you are now losing money every time you sit down and post to your blog. If you spend 30 minutes a day posting to your blog, you will spend 15 hours in a month and have nothing to show for it.
However, don’t despair.
A really good blog is one that, once you start it, you would keep it up if you never made any money at it. The reasons for this are that the topic of the blog is a passion for you. It is not just about blog marketing. You should have an interest in the subject matter. You should be an expert in what you write about and your expertise shows.
Your readers come back over and over to see what you will say next. They pull out their credit card to buy a product you recommend. They click on a Google ad or subscribe to a newsletter. It is much easier when your blog is kept up to date with useful information. Do this and you will avoid the downside to blogging.
However that’s the problem. You have to be passionate about your subject and you have to keep it updated regularly. Many of us will never write 30 posts in the first month or maybe ever. The Internet is cluttered with blogs that were started with good intentions and abandoned like an orphan.
If you can combine your passion with hard work you can blog for money. However the money side of it should appear to your visitors to be somewhat secondary - almost an after thought.
Blogging is work. Don’t be the victim of the downside to blogging. If your prime purpose is blog marketing and it doesn’t work immediately, then persevere. Make a commitment to post at least once a week instead of daily. If you are passionate, this should be achievable

Cyberdust, ruined, or busted? Web Site Traffic is the Engine Necessary to Make Money Online
By Daniel Stouffer in Featured
Web site traffic is the life blood of any web site and is critical to the success of any online business.
Without it you can’t make money online or generate leads. Targeted traffic is simply traffic from sources and locations that are relevant to your site. If you have looked into generating traffic, you have probably seen offers of 100,000 hits for $50 or whatever.
Not too often will such tactics work. You really need to find your niche, develop a product that will interest them, and get into the environments where these prospects will be active online.
Web site traffic is becoming increasingly more expensive to develop. Regardless, it is still critical for a small online business to know where traffic is coming from and understand what people are doing when they visit their web site. Web site traffic is essential to having a thriving online business for the long haul.
Web site traffic x conversion = results (i.e. money)
Web Site Traffic is the life blood that determines whether or not your site makes money or lays dormant collecting dust, ruined, or busted. Without traffic, you have a pretty site you can show off to your mates and fellow entrepreneurs but not one that will put money in your pocket.
What if you do have a good site, a great product, a solid business plan already in place? Where exactly do you go to build consistent traffic to your web site?
BLOGGING
Web site traffic is partially generated by search engines and more web site traffic will be directed to and from blogs if the blog itself ranks highly. Blogs get much attention from Google and many other indexes hungry for new, user generated content.
Blogging has become a part of day-to-day life. People have taken to share their views and opinions and post their comments online. Blogs and RSS feeds go hand in hand. Since more people are into blogs, website owners are finding that this has become a valuable tool in getting website traffic. Regardless of the source, Web site traffic is a necessary condition for success in making money online.
ONLINE FORUMS
Daniel Stouffer - Forums are an excellent medium to get increased web site traffic. It’s simple to execute traffic building from forum. You simply ask a few questions you need answered, answer a few questions you have the answers for, or make comments about topics you have knowledge about. This is a simple formula as long as you don’t “spam” your postings. Keep you marketing speak out of your posts and leverage your signature line for your short marketing pitch.
Find forum owners with a lot of members that are discussing many issues related to your product or service. This is a good bet and effective starting point. You can get a good, broad distribution of your name, product, and knowledge without having the members feel you are spamming.
Forums are really meant to be conversations about certain topics. Inserting advertising into a topic such as issues facing our low carbon economy just doesn’t make sense. Keep on topic and you’ll be fine.
ORGANIC SEARCH ENGINE RANKING
Search engines are text based and dominated by content. The new computer algorithms are looking for repetition of keywords, relevant content, and combinations of statistical numbers for ranking purposes. There is no reason why writing for search engines should be incompatible with company objectives.
Search engines tend to look for particular Web page content construction when “spidering” and indexing Web sites. The absence of certain attributes, or the over-prevalence of keywords, can seriously impact your ability to achieve Web site listing and your subsequent ranking success. Keep your web site content on topic to your service offering and focused on the needs and wants of your target prospect.
If messaging is focused squarely on your prospect, your organic search rankings will benefit as a result.
ARTICLE MARKETING
Article marketing is a super and cost effective way to broadcast your message and knowledge around a certain particular. The articles typically contain a sample outline about a topic with a specific audience in mind. Case in point is this article itself. The general topic revolves around making money online through the effective use of traffic building tactics.
Often, the article reader will just skim the content in order to find something of interest - Making money online EQUALS lots of traffic PLUS many free sources of traffic like traffic exchanges PLUS effective marketing messages targeting to the needs of your prospects.
Article marketing is a strategy that involves writing articles that are optimized for certain keywords. Articles are often keyword driven with an emphasis towards the marketer’s area of knowledge or service offering. The keywords that you optimize your articles for should not have too many competing keywords, pages, and products thus enabling you to get quality position in the search engines.
Content is always the bait for visitors. The better and more useful the content, the more likely prospects will check out your resource box (hint, hint), and decide to jump over to your website. Content that does not help the reader, involve the reader, or help support your web offering is just going to be fluff and of little value.
TRAFFIC EXCHANGES
Free web site traffic is initially labor intensive when it comes to traffic exchanges but the investment of your online marketing efforts will bring you longer term success online. Online business owners who seek increased web site traffic hope that their web site is a favorite in the internet community. Recent surveys have indicated that the internet population now exceeds one billion people and web site marketers who crave a significant piece of that lofty figure are always searching for more visitors.
Online customers look for more than a name and number when they need goods or services. Use traffic exchanges as a method to provide free Internet advertising to show prospects your business information and services. Build up your reputation and your trust level with the surfing members and you won’t have any trouble generating traffic to your site.

Blogging and Traffic: Create a Blog to Get Traffic to your Website
By Peter Nisbet in Featured

Is Finding A Profitable Blogging Topic Enough?
By Edward Lomax in Featured
If you want to make money blogging, it all starts with a great, profitable topic. If you don’t get the niche of your blog right from the beginning, everything else you do is just a waste of time. Sounds, dramatic, but it’s true.
But really, finding a profitable blogging topic is not all that hard. You only need a niche that has two characteristics:
There must be lots of people interested in the blog topic and there must be people ALREADY spending money in the niche. That’s it. If there is a lot of interest and a lot of money being spent, all you need to do to have a profitable blog is tap into the existing income.
But that is where the problem starts.
There are so many blogs and so many bloggers that there really are no untapped niches that live up to the two necessary requirements of a profitable blog topic. While discovering a profitable niche is still the first step, you have to take your blogging plan further and figure out how you are going to distinguish yourself from your competition.
Every profitable blog starts with a great idea in a profitable niche. But success of the blog is determined by how well you differentiate yourself from the other bloggers in your niche. And if you are a newcomer to the niche, you have to do what the established blogger is already doing, but in a more impressive and valuable way.
The days of becoming a successful blogger making a full time income for a few minutes of work are long gone. Now you must have a plan if you want your blog to raise in the ranks and be recognized as an authority. And you must be willing to do more than your competition.
Here are some ideas to make your blog successful and profitable after you’ve identified a profitable niche to blog about.
1 Have A Plan
Just having a plan sets you apart from the majority of your competition. A lot of bloggers still don’t even blog about one specific topic. Their blogs are all over the place talking about whatever comes to mind. So, forget about them having any kind of plan or goals.
2 Create A Publishing Schedule
Coming up with great content is a challenge. And frankly, it is impossible to come up with fantastic posts every day. So, you need to have a publishing schedule that keeps you on track, but is relaxed enough to be accomplished.
I suggest making a publishing schedule that consists of a combination of short utility posts, longer featured posts and posts designed to recommend or sell products. This mix keeps regular posts being made to your blog without the pressure to come up with all the content yourselves.
3 Use All The Tools At Your Disposal
There are a lot of software programs designed to make blogging easier and more effective. And here is the good news… most bloggers don’t use them! If you are one of the bloggers in your niche using software to help you create a fantastic blog, you can set yourself apart from the competition.
4 Promote Your Blog
A lot of bloggers just post to their blog and that’s it. They sit back and wait for their post to be indexed by the search engines and the traffic to flow in. And a lot of time, they just keep waiting with little or no traffic to show for it.
So, if you are promoting your blog, going to where your potential readers are and drawing them into your blog, you can quickly take over the top spot in your niche.
Finding a profitable blog topic is easy. Just look for niches of high interest with a lot of money being spent. But remember, the competition is growing every day. Be prepared to do more, faster and more effective than other bloggers in you niche and you will take how a lion’s share of the profits.
