googlelogoOnline traffic has greatly increased in just the last five years, and it is expected to continue in growth.

One of the main reasons for this is because broadband, and other high-speed Internet services have become much more affordable, as well as available in more areas.

On any given day, there are hundreds of millions of people online who use GOOGLE search to find information, videos, entertainment, goods and services, and other things of interest.

With the boom in search engine traffic, how can you leverage their search to bring them to your Web site or Sales page? Keywords – is the answer. The right keywords.

Most Internet marketing “gurus,” will tell you to target the low-competition, and long-tailed keywords for your Sales or Landing pages.

I will not tell you this. In fact, I would advise you to target the high-competition keywords, and use GOOGLE keyword finder to amass many broad-match keywords, and phrases in your research.

Once you have your list of keywords, then take full advantage of the Web. That is right – go to the high-traffic, major article directories, and surf the titles of content which contain some of your keywords.

Find the most informative, well-written articles that target your niche, and then scan the content for the parts that have the best up-to-date information available.

Then copy and paste these bits of information into a word processor like Microsoft Word.

Create bullet style lists of information, using sub-heads, (because people love to scan) and compile bits of information from five or six great articles, or other sources of helpful, informative content.

Do not steal other people’s content as this is against the law, and the search engines will flag or penalize such into a sub-directory, which they would consider to be duplicated content. (Some have paid huge fines for doing this, and lost their domain as well)

The information you have compiled will simply serve as a basic guideline for the new fresh article you are about to write.

When I say write – I mean use your own words. Do not even try to get away with using partial sentences or phrases, previously published on the Web.

Do not try to simply reword other people’s content, as this will not work because copy-scape and other plagiarism tools will spot such in a jiffy, and you could face a 250,000.00 fine.

You are allowed to assimilate the entire information, and then write a totally new article.

Researchers have to check facts, and compile information every day, as this is legal.

However, you can use such research to craft high-impact, informative, engaging, article content for your own site. (as long as no part of it is plagiarized)

Write in a clear, concise manner that is personable, as well as informative. Weave your keywords you have chosen into the copy in a fashion that is natural sounding, easy to read, and lively.

People will not read boring material, so pick a subject, which you have good expertise in, and give helpful, informative insight of your own about the subject matter.

This is what will make it your own, and unique. Do not try to put over 2-3% of keywords into the content (even broad-match wording) as this will be seen by the reader’s and the search engines as keyword-stuffing, and it will come off as being boorish, and flat.

When you follow the guidelines in this article, concerning how to write great content that folks will like to read, you will discover you can be competitive (even for high-competition keywords)

I have many articles, which targeted super-competitive keywords such as (expert sales and landing page copy) that still hold their first place listings – even more than a year later – in the GOOGLE search results.

It is the presentation, and manner in which the copy is created, that will determine whether the page ranks on the first page of search results – or if it is placed so far back in the listings – (it becomes lost in cyberspace)

To create great content takes skill, and some practice, but the rewards it brings are hungry visitors who want to know more about your products or services.

It will pay you to learn how to do this, again and again. Once you become so much of an expert in your preferred niche, you will discover that you will no longer even have to do research (except, to fact check) to be able to write good articles.

If you find you do not have the time to learn to do this, you could always hire a good Web writer who will do the same.

Nevertheless, great content will bring targeted visitors to your Web site, and make you sales.

Website-TrafficNo matter how hard you try to generate traffic to your site, you will fail when you do not have a methodology and a strategy. Traffic building is not as complicated as many would lead you to believe.

Traffic building is really simple and all about “numbers”.

According to realtimestatistics.org,(http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/technology/8552410.stm), there are 1,730,256,608 Internet users across the world. So, remember that it is quite possible to drive 1000 visitors every single day to a website of almost any niche.

The web world is ever changing and you need to constantly search for new traffic sources, test and track them.

In 2008, I wrote an ebook that revealed my most effective methods of generating free website traffic. As online conditions and technologies change, I feel it’s now time to update that ebook.

However, instead of revealing my new top 10 free website traffic generation methods in ebook format, I’m going to do it in a 10-part article series.

While I do list these methods in order of my preference, it’s not necessarily by which ones produce the most traffic. Instead, I list them also considering which produce the highest quality traffic, and therefore adds the most to my bottom-line.

Let’s get started…

My number one favorite method of generating free website traffic is via an affiliate program. I like releasing simple, inexpensive products that pay as much as 100% commission on the front-end. Properly done, this can create thousands of affiliates all working frantically to send you highly-qualified BUYING traffic.

They find and send you traffic that you wouldn’t otherwise have, and you reward them for doing so.

If you’d like to see a live example of how I do this, visit: http://sellmorebigticket.com The product there is a $17 audio/ebook combination where I pay affiliates 100% commission. That ebook is called “The Secrets To Selling More Big Ticket Products” and is an MP3 and PDF transcript where I share exactly how I do that :-)

There are a number of keys to making this most effective, and I see many people who attempt this tactic missing some of the most important elements. Those keys are:

1) You want to make managing the whole system as easy as possible. If your system is too burdensome, you won’t use it for very long. I use the Rapid Action Profits system, developed by my friend Sid Hale, to manage this affiliate program. I use it because once I set up a site, RAP makes management practically hands-free. The script can be configured to pay any percentage commission that you desire on a front-end and/or back-end product.

The beauty of the system is that when a sale is made, the affiliate is paid instantly directly to their Paypal account, and the customer is redirected to a download page. At that point, my affiliate has sent me that prized traffic, but as importantly, is also building me a mailing list.

2) You need to also have a good back-end product in-place. I typically have a second product that I offer immediately after that first sale. You can offer affiliates any percentage commission on this sale, and I often don’t offer any since I’ve given them all of the money from the front-end sale.

The key though, is that if you do offer a back-end product (or one-time-offer) you will often get a major percentage of customer take it. So, if you don’t have that offer in place, you’re leaving behind much of your profits.

3) You need to have follow-up in place. It does little good to build that list if you don’t later follow-up with them. Another reason that I like using Rapid Action Profits is that it builds a database right within the software.

Since some web hosting companies limit the number of emails that you can send from their servers (at one time), RAP also offers the capability for automatically building your list on a third-party system (such as Aweber.com or ProfitAutomation.com).

I have at least 30 sites built using RAP. Those are all traffic generation systems. Can you tell that I like RAP? You should check out RAP at http://timic.org/RAP

4) Here’s where a lot of people using this traffic generation method cut corners, and fail…

You need to give affiliates lots of great tools so that it’s really, REALLY easy for them to register as affiliates and then promote like crazy.

Many of your affiliates won’t feel comfortable creating tools on their own. So, if you don’t give them the tools, they’ll end up doing nothing. Tools should include:

  • Banners in a variety of sizes
  • Solo emails
  • Blog posts
  • Tweets
  • Classified ads (suitable for Google AdWords)
  • The tools should have the affiliates’ links automatically inserted in the proper places – something RAP handles beautifully. If you force your affiliates to have to track down links, and then manually edit the tools you offer, many won’t bother.

    5) Here’s how you make your traffic generator go viral…

Invite your customers to become affiliates after they purchase. I’ve seen many merchants put links to their affiliate program right on the sales page. I don’t like this technique since I feel that it can distract customers that your affiliates worked hard to send you. So, I don’t feel that it’s fair.

Instead, I put links to sign-up for the affiliate program on my product download pages, AND often in the products themselves. Simply explain to customers that they can register, promote the product, and earn instant commissions. This is very effective, especially when you have all of those great affiliate tools in place.

It’s also very effective because the INSTANT commissions helps those who need the cash now!

Ok, I’ve just shared with you my very favorite method for generating free website traffic. I basically get others to send me the traffic, and then I have tools in place to leverage that traffic.

    Stay tuned for part 2…

How much are you willing to pay for advertising? What would it be worth to you to get advertising open to billions of people worldwide? Let’s cut out the sales pitch because you know all about that. Do you know how to get free advertising online? In fact, do you know how to get the right kind of advertising offline – and free of charge?

Probably not, but I do. So the question now is how much are you prepared to pay me to find out? When I look at the keyword analysis of people seeking free advertising, there are from 10,000 – 50,000 searches on Google looking for information on how to get free advertising every month. That’s right – up to 50,000 every month. In fact 250,000 every month are looking for ‘free advertising’ without any qualification.

Guess what! The answer is right at your fingertips. No matter what you want to advertise, and no matter how difficult you have found to advertise your product or service in the past, it is easy to advertise online what you have to offer without paying a single cent for the advert.

So what’s the secret? There is no secret. I have been advertising it for free for many years, yet even I have been making the mistake that 99.99% (a guestimate!) of those that advertise their products make. That mistake is to assume that the people that matter will see your advert. Note the ‘that matter’ part.

Do you like cats? There’s no point in you trying to sell cat baskets to internet marketing gurus or young girls looking for how to choose the best cat for them. The latter example is easier to sell your cat baskets to than the former, but it’s only a matter of degree. You still have to persuade them they need a cat basket. You can sell bait to an angler, but you still have to persuade them they need YOUR bait, or the kind of bait you are selling.

The best way of using free advertising is to use it sell something that has already been sold. At least, the idea has been sold, and all the prospective buyer needs is a nudge. To do that you have to be like that prospective buyer – I don’t like the word ‘prospect’ – it sounds too commercial! My future customers know what they need; they just don’t realize it yet. So what’s the secret?

Don’t click away when I tell you, because many might just do that. Like many online secrets, it is no secret all. It is by using a technique that you all have likely heard about (although that doesn’t mean it doesn’t work), just that you have been taught badly.

I don’t work full time at internet marketing. I am an industrial chemist and part of my job is to train people how to manufacture our product (hot stamping foil – look it up!).

I do that pretty well because I can put myself in their place. I had to learn sometime, and they don’t teach my product in college. I learned from my first manager, and like to think that I can pass my knowledge on to others fairly easily. Learning how to make money online is a bit like that, and so is learning how to advertise for free. Free advertising is a skill, and it is easy to get.

    Here are some ways:

    1. Use posters. If you market health products, whether your product is a health food , supplement, equipment or an eBook or video, then ask your local health center of you can put up a poster. Offer to pay if you get a sale (so it still free until then) if necessary. Ask if you can leave leaflets in the rest rooms, or even make reduced price offers for anybody that joins the club through your affiliate site. There’s an idea: Offer to promote the health club for a percentage, and offer your product free if they take it up.
    2. Ask your local authority if they have any sites where you can put up a poster advertising your product, and you will also include the local authority services in the same ad.
    3. Ask local radio for a free slot: perhaps you can advertise their services on your website in return
    4. Write articles.

So there you are: four great ways that you can use to get free advertising.

What’s that last one? Write articles?

Sure – that will likely bring you the best return because you can write and publish articles all over the internet advertising your product or service. Look back to the start of this article. How much are you willing to pay for advertising?

It doesn’t matter what your answer is. Articles are free for you to write if you know how. The problem is the ‘knowing how’. Then learning how to do it. If you learn how to write articles properly, and not just go through the motions, as the vast majority appears to do, then you are on to a winner.

    CONCLUSION

Get to know how to do article writing and you cant fail. Do it right and you will make money and everybody will read them. they will believe what you have wrote and you will make money.

    WHAT? Let’s start again:

Learn how to write articles articulately and comprehensibly and your erudite readers will gain the knowledge that you are so knowledgeable and cognizant of their needs that. . .

WHAT? Let’s start again – as an article should be written this time:

Learn how to write articles so as to provide information your reader wants and needs, and that reader will return to you repeatedly. Not only that, but if you show that you understand your niche, then they will also buy from you when you feel the time is right to offer your product.

Write to the reader personally, as if they were the only person you were addressing.

Article marketing is a term that is frequently misused, but the good thing is that it is not difficult to learn, and once you have mastered the principles with a bit of help, you will be able to generate as much free advertising as you want for the rest of your life – irrespective of how your business and products change.

traffic Let’s face it, anyone can build a website, there are countless companies out there offering a vast array of web building solutions, some good, some great, and some quite frankly are a complete waste of time! But throwing together a website is really only part of the story, only part of the process. There are literally, hundreds of thousands of web pages, that will never be viewed and therefore stand no chance of commercial success. Some of those sites are relatively good; unfortunately their owners have misunderstood the process and have the cart before the horse… In the online world nobody just happens by your website, credit card in hand!

If you have a website, chances are pretty high that you spend a lot of time looking for ways to market your business online. Paying for advertisements can be quite expensive, and today’s Internet user is so desensitized to online banner ads that advertising in this manner can be highly ineffective. However, there are many ways that you can advertise your business online without paying much or without paying anything at all! You just need to know where to look.

    Develop an Online Newsletter

Do you have an online mailing that you send to your customers? If not, you need to develop one. When your customers make a purchase online, have them sign up to receive “future offers” or an informative newsletter. You can also leave a form on your website for them to sign up to receive your newsletter. You may want to offer something free for this, such as a discount code, free tip, or a free gift.

Once you have your customer’s email address, put it to good use. Make your newsletter as good as it can possibly be. If you already have an online mailing in place, make it better. No one likes spam, so make the newsletter informative, helpful, and interesting. Throw in a coupon or two from time to time to keep the customer interested in reading the newsletter. Avoid using too many graphics, as this can keep some users from receiving the letter depending on their spam folder settings.

Become an Expert in Your Industry

Chances are you already are an expert in your industry. Use this to your advantage as you market online. Join forums that relate to your industry. Then, post useful comments. Do this often. Soon you will have a small online “following” that comes to you for advice. You can then point them towards your website for more information.

As you post in forums, make sure you follow the posting guidelines. Some forums will allow you to link to your website in your signature line. Others will allow you to link in actual discussions. Others do not allow any links at all, but may allow you to put a link in your profile. Since your time is valuable, choose forums that allow links, at least in your signature.

No matter what the forum rules may be, make sure that your posts do not sound like an ad. Give genuine, helpful advice to the people on the forum. Become a part of the community. You will be surprised at how much your bottom line increases with this strategy.

You can use this same rule to market using blogs. Comment on blog discussions relating to your industry whenever you can, and make the link take the reader back to your site. You can insert a link in your name field, but do not say, “you can find out more at my site.” That will be a turn off to most readers, but if they like what you have to say they will be willing to click on your name and visit your link.

    Create Your Own Blog

As you are working towards making yourself an expert in the field, you might want to set up your own blog. You can discuss newsworthy items that relate to your industry, and you can include a link on the toolbar to your ecommerce site. You can link to your blog in your forum posts and blog comments as well. If you do not have time to write blog posts on a regular basis, you can hire someone else to do it for you.

As you work to create your blog, make sure it is interesting. People who read blogs are looking for entertainment as much as they are looking for information. Do not be afraid to discuss something a little controversial. The more people that link to your blog from theirs, even if they are saying how crazy your idea is, the more traffic you will eventually generate for your ecommerce or business site.

    Use YouTube

Believe it or not, the popular video site YouTube is a great way to market a business, and posting a video is completely free. Now, like your forum and blog posts, you do not want to post a blatant advertisement on YouTube. However, you can create an informative “how to” that relates to your industry, and then link to your website at the end of the video.

The key to successful marketing with YouTube is not creating a fancy video full of special effects. It is making a video that is appealing to people. You want people to want to watch your video, email it to their friends, and post it on their blogs. Do not be afraid to do something a little crazy and fun, but make sure that it does not detract from your business.

    Use Online Business Directories

Online business directories are another way to market your business online. Keep in mind that there is a wide range of prices for these directories. Some charge high fees for listings, while others have free or low-cost listings available. Choose a directory that gets plenty of traffic but does not charge too much for your link. Make sure you can have some control over what is said in your listing. Also, make sure the directory is well laid out with an easy to understand organizational structure. Remember, your potential customers are not going to stay on a business directory site that is confusing or difficult to navigate.

That being said, list your business in as many free business directories as possible. After all, if the listing is free, it cannot hurt your business, and it will probably draw some traffic to your site. Some of these directories make money off of other types of ads, such as pay per click ads, so they allow businesses to create listings for free.
