webdesign4The homepage of your website is often the landing page and is critical to the success of your online business. When people land on this page, you have just a few seconds to capture their interest. This page will be a giant factor in your conversion rate which is the ratio of visitors that respond to your goal action. This goal action can be subscribing to your newsletter, signing up for your ecourse, ordering your products, etc.

Your homepage needs to contain certain elements to be successful in raising your conversion rate. Read the list carefully and check to see if your homepage meets all of the following criteria.

1. Color – The color you choose for your website can have a big effect on your visitors. The type of site you have should be a factor in the colors you choose. There are essentially two types of colors – cool and warm.

Browns, blues and greens are cool colors and can make you feel relaxed, calm and assured. These colors are good for sites pertaining to medicine, relaxation and other sites that have reassuring answers to your problems.

Yellows, reds and oranges are warm colors that bring out feelings of energy, excitement and happiness. These colors work well for exercise sites, sports sites and other energetic type sites.

Purple is a good color for fashion and jewelry sites. It emulates sophistication, royalty, and luxury, but it is also feminine and romantic.

The term “website writing” creates a notion that means everything from copywriting a landing page to SEO writing. Other site owners even think of it as their product description content, reviews, and articles. But these writing styles really differ from one another. When you do copywriting, you have to be very creative. It is the page that can either make your visitor to buy your products or make them leave the page.

Internet marketers easily determine the worth of a good copy. That’s why when they cannot write the landing page on their own, they’re willing to pay large sums of money to have it written properly. Copywriting the landing page involves a fine balance of informing interested visitors about a particular product/service while at the same time withholding other relevant information. This forces them to click on the next link for more information. Below are some rules you should keep in mind in copywriting a landing page:

Always Use Attention-Grabbing Headlines – A person will immediately see relevant keywords when he is searching for something. Ensure that your headline refers to the ad copy that caused the click. Use your creativity to write an irresistible (but true) offer he can’t refuse.

Write a Clear Call to Action – after the headline, the call to action – whether in the form of highlighted text, ad banner, or button, is the most important. Visitors need to know exactly what to do after they enter your website. In a short landing page, repeat the offer at least twice. In a longer page, repeat it 3-5 times.

Address the Customer Directly – instead of using we, us, and our, change it to YOU and YOURS. Let them know what your company can do for them and the benefits it provides. Also, writing in the second person also looks friendlier and relaxed. Make them feel like they’re just listening to their friend.

Deliver the Message Directly – Use creativity for conversion in writing an online landing page. Instead of thinking of it as an art form, try to view it as a business tool. It is supposed to persuade visitors to take action, not make you feel good about your personal expression.

Keep the Content Closely Written – some copywriter advise against long copy. But the truth is, this really isn’t a problem as long as you keep it tightly written. If the content is written firmly, a reader will likely continue reading it and if there is enough motivation for him to do so.

And finally, you should remember that you are writing for the web. Readers online are generally less patient than print readers. Keep the most important points at the beginning, use subheadings, and make use of various elements such as buttons, graphics, and highlighted text where appropriate.

Once you have created an information product, you may think you’ve completed all of the hard work. Unfortunately the most challenging piece of product creation is yet to come — the creation of the sales letter landing page where you talk about and sell your product.

Creating an effective sales letter is really all about following a formula. If you look at enough sales letters, you realize that most of them follow the same template. While there aren’t necessarily any hard-and-fast rules, here are 13 steps to help you create the perfect sales letter for your product or service:

  1. Headlines. First create an intro headline, which appears in smaller font just before your primary headline and gets your reader warmed up for the headline to follow. Then comes your primary headline, which is a large font in a different font color that must grab your reader’s attention. The best way to get your reader’s attention in your headline is to tug at an emotion, like fear, insider secrets that no one else knows, or how to do something.

Then, you have mini-headlines that are scattered throughout your text. Usually they contain a benefit and are meant to draw the reader’s eye to a certain section of text. They are in a larger font although smaller than the primary headline and in a different color than the text of your letter.

  2. Greeting. Start your letter with “Dear Target Market Name”, a date, and your geographic location.
  3. Introduction. This is section where you reiterate the details of a particular problem suffered by your target market, empathize with those who have a similar problem, outline why it’s important to seek a solution, and begin to drop hints that you’ve got the solution to this problem.
  4. Your story and credentials. Elaborate on your background and credentials that make you qualified to sell this product or service, as well as the story that led to the creation of this product.
  5. Product introduction. Here’s where you talk more about your product and begin to list and explain the main benefits (not features), or what’s in it for your reader if your reader buys the product.
  6. Bullet points. While this isn’t technically a part of the template, you’ll want to make full use of bullet points throughout your sales letter as a way of cleanly listing the many benefits and features of your product. Bullet points make it very easy for a reader to scan your page and pick up the pertinent information she needs to make a decision to buy your product.
  7. Testimonials. Testimonials serve as social proof that your product works. If others have purchased and used your product and gained the benefits that you promise, the reader feels more certain that they can purchase it, too, and receive similar benefits. Make your testimonials believable by including a photo, web site URL, phone number, audio, or video of the person giving the testimonial. The more that your visitor can identify with the person giving the testimonial, the more likely she is to purchase from you.
  8. Product details/benefits. Here’s where you get to break everything down for your reader, with all of the details of all of the specific components of your product.
  9. Your offer and bonuses. Your offer can make or break the sale of your product. Make the offer so irresistible that your reader can’t help but think, “I’ve gotta get that!” When you add bonuses to the mix, you increase the value of the offer immediately. Make sure that your bonuses are directly related to your main product so that your reader sees the enhanced value.
  10. Guarantee. Make your reader feel safe by offering an iron-clad guarantee that takes all the risk out of the purchase.
  11. Price justification. Compare your pricing to other products/services that you sell, or to items your reader might use regularly. Your goal here is to make the price a non-issue for the reader by reminding her how much continuing to deal with this problem is costing her.
  12. Final call to action. Again make your offer here, with clear, specific instructions on how your reader can purchase the product. Remind her of your guarantee and any bonuses she receives for purchase. Remind your reader why she should take action now, and include a sense of scarcity here, as in time limits, product limits, or limiting the bonuses to the few xx number of orders.
  13. Closing and postscripts (P.S.). Sign off on your letter and include at least one post-script. The post-script serves as a a powerful place where you give readers a reason to go back and consider the offer. Believe it or not, the P.S. the third most-read section of your sales letter, so don’t forget to include at least one. The P.S. is also the last place many of your readers will end up after reading your offer – just before they leave. Your P.S. needs to be the last persuasive offer to get them to stay and buy.

When you follow these 13 steps, you have now created a powerful sales letter. By following this 13-step formula, any online business owner can create an effective sales letter that sells her product or service.

Most landing pages are often way too cluttered for their own good – hence the low conversions and high bounce rates. Consumers have shortened attention spans online so overly complicated landing pages with pop-ups, animations, and too much to focus on will only lead them to click away. The following subtle tricks should help you create a more effective landing page that boosts conversions and sales.

Don’t Forget to Provide a Clear Call to Action

Too many people dismiss the importance of a clear call to action. After reading your landing page, users should know exactly what they are supposed to do, whether it is to fill out the form or click “Buy Now.” Adding a call to action to a landing page where one is lacking or making your current call to action much clearer and more prominent can have a dramatic impact on conversions.

Make sure that you only provide one call to action on your landing page. If you provide several different conversion options, people will get confused and your sales message will get diluted. Your prospects just want to sign on the dotted line so make it easy for them to do so.

Keep it Simple

The majority of landing pages are cluttered and overwhelming. Make sure the design of your landing pages is as simple as possible. Get rid of the distracting audio, animation, and bright colors. Make the visuals of your landing page so simple that visitors are guided to the call of action without interruptions.

Text should also be minimized when you are simplifying the design and look of your site. Make the content on your site easy to read and digest by dividing it into sections, using bullet points, and keeping things concise.

If you’re using a form to capture leads on your landing page, try to keep it as short as possible. If your form has too many fields, you will end up losing sales because your prospects won’t want to spend time filling it out. Getting your prospect’s name and email is usually enough in most cases.

The use of simple language is also important. If a sixth grader wouldn’t be able to understand it, don’t use it. Jargon and marketing speak don’t increase sales. If your landing page is too complicated or wordy, your visitors will lose interest quickly.

Convey Your Credibility

Not only should your website be simple, organized, and professional looking, it should also convey your credibility. People have to trust you first in order to purchase something from you. In order to earn that trust, you can list the names of reputable companies you have worked with, provide testimonials, refer to awards you have won, list memberships you have to relevant professional associations, etc.

Take a look at your current landing pages. Are they simple, professional, easy to follow, and organized? If not, make some changes while keeping these tricks in mind. A landing page with a clear call to action and credibility will help you boost conversions dramatically.

website-promotionBuilding a great landing page should be on top of your priority list if you want your website visitors transformed into customers. While a great looking website can grab the attention of your visitors, a strong landing page will keep them involved and get them to buy your products/services.

Wikipedia defines a landing page as:

the page that appears when a potential customer clicks on an advertisement or a search-ngine result link. The page will usually display content that is a logical extension of the advertisement or link, and that is optimized to feature specific keywords or phrases for indexing by search engines.

Affiliate marketing is getting harder and harder, due to the low level of entry (anyone can become your new competitor overnight). So it’s important to convert as many of your precious visitors into paying customers.

While you may be tempted to link all of your ads and articles to an affiliate offer (if you’re lucky and this gets overlooked), the truth is that almost all of us affiliates need to send our hard earned traffic to a webpage that pre-sells that visitor on a particular product.

The traditional way to do this was to create a page that sung the praises of a certain affiliated product, which kind of worked but not amazingly. Why? Because it soon became obvious to the wise consumers that your gamelan was to straight up and sell them something.

Now, nobody likes being sold to. But people love to make up their own mind about their buying decisions. So were introduced methods of “totally unbiased” pre-selling, one of the most powerful being the review page.

The reason a review page works so well is because it doesn’t just hard sell you on a specific product but instead gives you a choice, based on actual reasons why or why not a product is worth the money/time/effort and whether or not it is any good.

So if you’re thinking of making more money as an affiliate marketer online, then I suggest you not only incorporate review pages into your sales process, but make sure you do it right using the following blueprint:

Step 1. The Headline

The headline will draw people in and create excitement and desire to continue reading. The headline must include a clear benefit and address the reader as personally as possible. Always state what they will be gaining from reading on, based on the specific problem that they are experiencing.

Step 2. The Body

The entire body is elaborating on the headline and getting the reader involved. This might include telling a short story (only needs to be a paragraph here), in order to connect with the reader, and give a clear reason why you’ve bothered to do a review of these particular products.

Step 3. The products

Many people still do a review on one product and leave nothing to compare it against. I think this is a big mistake, because a comparison of similar products will help prevent the reader from leaving your page to compare the product you’ve reviewed with similar products elsewhere. In other words, why not get them to do their entire research on your page instead?

Step 4. Believability

If you make out as if the winning product is perfect in every sense, then you’ll lose sales. Why? Because people will believe a balanced review over a blatant sales pitch any day of the week. Pick out a few minor bad points and contrast them with the good points so as not to kill the sale.

Step 5. Call to action

Once you’ve written your reviews of each product, make the winning product the most prominent on the page, at the top before the fold. This will prevent visitors clicking away and will be able to clearly see which product is worth looking into. Make all of your links stand out, even on the losing products and be sure to use phrases that ask the visitor to take action, such as “click here to get rid of x..”.

If you apply these techniques to your review pages, you can expect to increase your conversions significantly. What you really need to consider is that more people are doing review type pre-selling every day, so in order for you to stand out; I would highly recommend you do a proper review and not just a “fake” review where you are talking out of your behind! So, you would do well to actually buy the products you are reviewing and make balanced points good AND bad and simply let the visitor make the decision, not you.

If you follow this advice, I can assure you that you’ll always be ahead of the competition by giving your visitors valuable help in buying through affiliate links. Trust me, your visitors will actually appreciate this more than you’d think, and you’re still going to be picking up the affiliate pay checks at the end of the month too.

We are facing an overload of products that teach us how to get rich with affiliate marketing…so it is crucial that you pick a product that not only works but is right for YOU personally… Don’t buy any one of them before you have read my reviews at: http://www.clickhere-direct.com

website design A landing page is the first page the web user arrives at using a specific URL, or clicking a link in an email or at another site. They are popular because they are more effective at accomplishing their purpose than standard pages. However, there are certain characteristics that effective landing pages have in common – here are seven of those characteristics.

1. The landing page should have only one objective. The objective can be for the reader to buy a product, sign up for a newsletter or to click on an active link to go to another page. The action can be anything that you want. The key is there is only one thing you are asking the reader to do. There is no confusion for the reader – they either take the action or they don’t.
