Product Creation- Public Domain Versus PLR
By Nahid Ashby in Featured
I think one of the best ways to create your own ebook apart from writing your own is to use public domain or better still Private label rights or PLR.
In this article I will try and briefly explain the two and point out the pros and cons.
Public Domain books are works that were created and first published before 1st January 1923 or at least 95 years before January 1st of the current year, whichever is later.
In most cases works that are in public domain have no restrictions attached to them -this means you can use them anyway you want. This is because after so many years, the copyright has expired and the author is no longer around in most cases there are some exceptions of course with some of the famous works that came from the early 20th century like Dale Carnegie and the likes.
Statistically speaking, 15% of the books in the world today are either originated from public domain or are in public domain.
However, I want to warn you that although you can take a public domain book and put your name on it as the author and claim the content as your own, most of the information contained in these works from almost 100 years ago are likely to be obsolete.
The best and the safest bet is that you use public domain information in areas that are time tested like principles, self-improvement, and some food recipes because these will probably still be valid and workable today.
And I won’t neglect to mention that the command of English in those days was quite different than it is today so you really need to do a lot of editing and rendering to bring it up to date.
There are many places where you can find public domain material, but the most famous is www.gutenberg.org.
Private Label Rights are basically pre-made content that you can purchase at reasonable price and use to create your own product. This is becoming increasingly popular in the Internet Marketing arena. Just like public domain, you can put your name as the author and edit the contents.
When you compare private label rights to public domain, I would say PLR is somewhat easier to handle because it’s a relatively new concept and this means that the contents are much more up to date and written by contemporary authors or ghost writers.
For example there are a lot of PLR books on things that we use in our everyday lives like the Internet and popular items like iPhone, and topics such as how to use technology, also on gadgets and that kind of stuff which we cannot find in public domains.
Just to let you know, pre-made content whether it’s public domain or PLR, does not have to be limited to written content. So it’s not just about E-books and articles. Any kind of works that are in public domain including music, images, and even audio for the matter are also content that you can actually use. And today, just like public domain, private label rights are not just limited to E-books or articles. You can also get PLR software, PLR audios and videos. I hope this helps you get a jump start with your content creation empire.

Private Label Rights Traffic Tip
By Craig Breeze in Featured
Maybe the idea of rewriting content around keywords doesn’t sound like your cup of tea. That’s fine – you can still load Private Label Rights content up on your website or blog and pull traffic in like crazy.
How?
By “bookmarking” your site (with appropriate tags and/or in appropriate categories) on the most popular social bookmarking sites. The end result is that you probably won’t get traffic from the search engines but you WILL be pulling in traffic from the high-traffic Web 2.0 sites.
But this type of marketing does not come without a catch
You can’t just bookmark bland content and expect people to visit. What you want your visitors to do is get excited and tell their friends – and in the case of social bookmarking, that means you want your visitors to bookmark and rate your site.
What this means you need to choose your best Private Label Rights content to post to your website or blog. If the content reads like every other article , people won’t bookmark it. But if you use the content that’s well-written or even a little edgy, you’ll have traffic bookmarking and rating your site like crazy!
Bookmarking Tips
To make your social-bookmarking efforts even more effective, be sure to add the social bookmarking buttons on your web pages, so that your visitors can quickly and easily bookmark your site. This will improve your rankings on these sites, meaning more people will visit …and more will bookmark it.
While there are plenty of social bookmarking sites online, you’ll want to focus your efforts on the most popular and high-traffic sites.
You will need to do your homework here, as there are better sites then others to place your article, be sure to include a link to your site or affiliate program with in your article.
As you are only getting your article bookmarked, links will be your key to getting traffic to your site, and unlike submitting to article sites you will be able to included your links here.
As you can see there are many was to get traffic to your site and this is just one of them but be sure to keep track on more of my articles in the coming weeks as we will be including more and more tips to drive that all important traffic and customers to your site.
Just touching on a point we made before please make sure the content you are looking to bookmark is fresh and new and not just copied and pasted, as you want something new that will keep your reader interested, I can not stress just how important this is to your online success.

Simple Private Label Rights
By Karen Thomson in Featured
Many online marketers turn to the profitable method of using Private Label Rights to create their own content material, especially once they have got a grip on Internet marketing and decide to branch out and sell their own products online.
Content that comes with the tag ‘Private Label Rights’ is content that can be sold to others. Private Label Rights, or PLR, as it is more commonly known as, has become one of the most popular and useful ways to create new product and content in the Internet marketing world. Complete flexibility to change as much of the original work as you want is part of the beauty of Private Label Rights content. Although you must be careful to look at the PLR Licence that comes with each product as some owners of the original work may place some limitations and you do not want to find yourself in a costly legal battle, so look carefully at the rights before deciding to buy in case you end up with something that you cannot ultimately work with.
When you receive your Private Label Rights product, it will normally come to you in a .txt (text file), .doc (document file) or .rtf (rich text file). The text file is normally from Notepad and the document and rich text files are usually in Microsoft Word and these can be used to edit and modify the original work into a masterpiece of your own in which you can name yourself as the author. This saves you numerous hours wondering what on earth to write about as the basis of the whole document, report or article is already set down for you.
As I said earlier though, you must make the content your own, not just change the author name. Examine it thoroughly and use your own personality to come through to be able to rewrite the content suited to your needs. It is a fact that you are most likely to be one of hundreds of people with the same Private Label Rights content and if you do not take the time to alter the content substantially, then you will find that consumers will be fed up with seeing the same old stuff; the seller may have sold several hundred copies of his original product after all. On top of this, the search engines do notice the same content on multiple sites and will give any credence to it. Try adding some completely new content, it’s far easier once you have a start from the Private Label Rights content; use it to generate new ideas in your mind and just write as if you were talking to a good friend.
Fill out the content more, give it some real substance and really make it worth reading and selling to others. You should also ensure to change the title; make it outstanding and unique. This in itself can make all the difference between an okay seller and a real profit maker. There is undoubtedly many products on the market today that just haven’t sold simply because the headline was uninspiring. They should be thought stirring and provoking; drumming up emotions and creating curiosity.

Using PLR Correctly to Achieve Successful Results
By Kathy Dobson in Featured
If you’ve been thinking of entering the online marketing world then no doubt you have come across the term PLR. So, what exactly is PLR?
PLR stands for Private Label Rights. Private Label Rights is simply content that has been written previously by someone else for use by others. There are many different ways you can purchase PLR. You can buy content packages in your particular niche or you can join a membership site that provides unique content on a monthly basis.
PLR products provide any online business owner the opportunity to make money with very little overhead, and the great thing is, you now have content that is targeted to driving traffic to your online business.
For example, if your website or blog dealt with “stay at home moms,” you would purchase article packs covering different topics in the “stay at home mom” world. You could use these articles to add valuable content to your website each week to keep your existing visitors happy and to draw new ones in. Additionally, you can use that same content to promote affiliate programs or products you have produced on your own.
Before you dive into using PLR, you must first understand what your rights are as a PLR buyer/owner. Private Label Rights products entitle you to rewrite any or all of the content as you see fit and put your name on the finished product. Although you did not write it, you have the right to claim it as your own.
Any reputable PLR site will provide a list of the ways that you are allowed to use or not use the content that you purchase from them. Each one is slightly different though so make sure you read and understand this important list first before moving forward and using the content.
Finding and posting great content can be extremely time consuming for anyone growing an information business online. But, in order to be successful, you must consistently provide unique content to your readers. This is what makes PLR so appealing. The fact that you are allowed to use this content for your website or blog makes it extremely valuable. The time you save can be put to use developing other more important aspects of your business.
Be aware that PLR does have a downside. There are hundreds of others privileged to use this same content. You must take care to make this material your own before using it on your site, articles or blogs. This is the only way to keep the search engine gods happy…as well as your faithful visitors.
Rewriting PLR content is not as difficult as you might imagine. Here are a few tips:
- Use a Ghostwriter. Hiring a ghostwriter to start from scratch to create a product for you can be very expensive…particularly for the newcomer. On the other hand, hiring them for a rewrite is less costly and can produce great results. Simply ask your ghostwriter to do a paragraph by paragraph rewrite, using different words but keeping the same feel. Before you publish your articles, check them over carefully.
- Use a software program created for this purpose. These can be helpful tools, but you must be careful that the feel of the article does not change. Furthermore, these programs sometimes substitute synonyms that turn your article into complete rubbish. Always recheck it closely before using this rewritten content.
- New Graphics. Even if your PLR comes with graphics, it is wise to have your own graphics made and change these up. Remember, there will be others using the same PLR and using the same book cover as others will be a dead giveaway. Adding pictures and other graphics to the content will make your product stand out from the rest. Using screen print images easily demonstrates what you are trying to convey and it further engages the reader.
There are free graphics available online as well as many sites that charge a nominal fee for use of graphics. One way or another, make sure these graphics are “royalty free.” Adding video to go along with your content will really up the value of your product.
- Change up your own PLR product. If you enjoy writing and have the time, changing up PLR will not take nearly as long as creating something from scratch. It’s much easier to rewrite portions of an existing article…than to create an article from scratch.
- Using relevant keywords and links that have been provided with your PLR can help you to monetize your site. Simply add the links provided, or add in your own affiliate links.
As you can see, PLR is worth its weight in gold and it is worth your time and effort to discover the many different ways of using and making this content your own. PLR is a time-saving, efficient way of providing information online. Don’t miss out on a surefire way to increase the success of your online business or blog.
