Acer Shining Spotlight on Aspire Series

Acer America is gearing up to launch its all-in-one desktop models, featuring Windows 8, to U.S. customers Oct. 26.

The Acer Aspire 7600U and 5600U Series are two of  the thinnest all-in-ones ever made, boasting a profile of less than 1.4 inches. The edge-to-edge frameless 27- and 23-inch screens, which can be mounted on a wall, offer full HD imagery for movies, games and photography

The machines also feature a thin chassis and a semi-transparent enclosure with a floating design that houses the hard drive, optical drive and screen and matches the wireless keyboard and mouse.

“Our newest AIOs offer consumers a no-compromise solution for those wanting the power of a desktop in a sleek and elegant chassis,” said Frank Chang, director of desktop product management for Acer America. “The blend of Windows 8, capacitive touch technology, instant resume functionality and fast processing deliver a superb computing experience, making it an ideal entertainment hub for college dorms or an entire household.”

That 27-inch screen, in 1920 x 1080 resolution, features a 10-point capacitive touchscreen with improved gesture recognition and an optional 80-degree angle tilt. A wireless keyboard and mouse also come with the package for those who don’t like touch control.

The Aspire 7600U has a 3.1 GHz Intel Core i5 processor, 8 GB of memory, a NVIDIA GT640M graphics processor, a combination Blu-ray/optical drive and  two HDMI inputs.

The 5600U has a 3.1 GHz Intel Core processor, 8 GB of memory, a super-multi optical drive and one HDMI input.

The 7600U will retail at $1,899 for its cheapest design. The 5600U with inclusion of 10-point capacitive touch technology will cost $1,149. Without touch technology it will have a $999.99 price tag.
