Amazon’s newly updated Kindle Paperwhite, which includes such features as a sharper screen, new touch technology and faster processor is now available for pre-order.
The next generation tablet offers all-new reading features like Kindle Page Flip, Goodreads, Kindle FreeTime, Smart Lookup and Vocabulary Builder to name a few. The device has eight weeks of battery life and a no-glare display to make reading easy, even in bright sunlight.
“Kindle is the best-selling e-reader in the world for six years running,” Amazon.com founder and CEO Jeff Bezos said in a press release.
“No one is investing on behalf of readers or pushing the boundaries of hardware, software and content for readers like this team: the new Kindle Paperwhite has brand-new display technology, the next generation of our built-in light, a faster processor, plus all of the exclusive benefits of the Kindle ecosystem like Kindle MatchBook, Kindle Owners’ Lending Library, over 400,000 exclusive titles, Goodreads, Kindle Singles, Kindle Worlds, Kindle FreeTime, and much more.”
The new Kindle Paperwhite comes with a $119 pricetag and will begin shipping Sept. 30.
The Kindle Paperwhite Wi-Fi + 3G, which comes in at $189, is not yet available for pre-order, although customers can sign up to be notified when it becomes available. It is expected to ship Nov. 5.
