With things like Wi-Fi finders, you’ll never be at a loss for a connection. Even better, some simple apps make it quick and easy to add new business cards and contacts to your Smartphone’s address book or contact list.

Here are a number of great apps that will help you be productive on your next business trip. From start to finish, you’ll have everything you need in one place, and you might even have some time left over for the things you want to do.

Wi-Fi Finder — Look no further for Wi-Fi; Wi-Fi Finder will locate it for you. It will help you find free or paid Wi-Fi services. The app is available for the iPhone and iPod Touch. Additionally, you can download the locations offline, so you can locate places to stay connected while you’re on the road. You can even select to choose hotspots by provider, if you prefer. A GPS function works with this app to tell you how to find the Wi-Fi.

Traveling takes time, but with this app, you’ll be able to quickly manage your flights. It works on trains, planes, for stadium seating, and more. With help from this app, it’s no longer difficult to find your preferred seat mate. This app is fairly new to the market, so head here for a little more information about social seating.

Expensify — This app stops you from losing track of your expenses. In fact, you can import your information directly from your bank account and credit card. This information is then placed into a PDF, so you can download it, sort it, and turn it in when necessary. The app is beneficial, because you can scan your receipts, saving you a lot of time.

Viber  — What’s better than free calls while you’re on-the-go? When you travel, international fees can really be expensive, but this will quickly take the place of those calls and give you the freedom to speak to who you want to when you want to. It can be downloaded to your computer desktop and allows you to make free calls to other Viber users along with any network in any country. You can get Viber for your Windows phone, Nokia, BlackBerry, Android, iOS, Windows 8, or desktop.

Skype — Skype is perfect for travellers, since it’s completely free to use. Additionally, you can choose to add Skype credit, and that will allow you to call home phones and cellphones from your computer at reduced rates. For instance, calling America from the U.K. costs around .02 cents per minute. Not too bad, right? You can send SMS messages, complete video calls, and more with this software. Businesses and users can also pay slightly more for Skype Premium, and this will allow you to complete conference calls from anywhere where you can access Skype. Skype can be downloaded to tablets, iPhones, Android phones, and laptops or desktops at the push of a button.

Cam Scanner —  CamScanner turns your phone into a scanner, so you don’t have to keep paper receipts or risk losing them on the road. You can document all types of paper items, like receipts, price tags, invoices, business cards, and more. The documents can also be managed and annotated for easy searching and access. If you sign up for Cloud Sync with the scanner, you will have access to 200M of cloud space storage for free. Then you can access your documents from anywhere at any time just by being logged in.

These are eight of the most popular apps for business professionals who travel at the moment. Of course, there are plenty more where those came from, but when you can use an app that has been downloaded hundreds of thousands, if not millions of times, then you can trust that it will be safe and work for you. Many of these apps are free and work on Android or iPhones, but if not, there are similar programs available on each platform. From finding Wi-Fi to scanning your receipts, these apps make it simple to get your work done and documented without taking too much time.

Using programs like Skype can make it easier to talk to all your business colleagues or employees from around the world. Documenting your receipts digitally can help you save on storage and paper. Additionally, why travel next to someone you don’t like? Use your Social Seating platform to find yourself a great seat partner. With apps like these, there’s no reason to have difficult travels. Many transport and accommodation services are accessible through apps, many hotels and serviced apartments have their own downloadable apps. Apps like this enable you to book theatre tickets and provide area guides for specific locations, in this case London. Mobile and/or tablet apps make business travellers lives so much easier when they are on-the-go. The ongoing development of apps and technology is paramount as it enables customers to make good and well informed decisions.
