FIO Allows Users to Track Five Time Zones at Once
Figure it out.
The title of a new Chrome extension — or in its acronym form of FIO — seems pretty accurate if you’ve ever tried to figure out what time it is in another city. Time zones, daylight savings and other factors can play havoc with the brain when trying to determine when to make that call to a contact in Los Angeles or Hong Kong.
FIO takes all of that away by allowing the user to choose a handful of locations to be displayed with the current time showing at each location.
“Scattered across endless lands and open oceans, timezones are problematic,” is the first thing one sees when visiting the apps’ website.
That sums it up quite nicely.
The page, actually, is pretty simplistic and doesn’t shed a great deal of light on the app but it’s simplistic and much handier than going online and trying to determine what time it is on the other side of the globe. In addition, the extension assigns a different colour to each city the user chooses.
What this all boils down to is a simple app that makes a big impact on a frustrating problem.
