Apple’s much-anticipated TV 4 will retail for less than $200, according to news reports.
9to5Mac is reporting the new box, which is said to be powered by an A8 chip, will have either a $149 or $199 pricetag.
The Apple TV is set to be unveiled along with Apple’s new line of iPhones Sept. 9.
The report indicated the Apple TV 4 will begin shipping in October after its unveiling in September.
Sources told Buzzfeed last month that users can “expect a refreshed and slimmer chassis and new innards; Apple’s A8 system on chip; a new remote that sources say has been ‘drastically improved’ by a touch-pad input; an increase in on-board storage; and an improved operating system that will support Siri voice control.”
Apple was originally supposed to announce the new Apple TV at its Worldwide Developer Conference in San Francisco last month, but put it on hold so its new Apple Music service could take the spotlight.
