Live streaming has become common on the Web. But are you using it to your business’ advantage?
Live Web streaming for companies of all sizes can be used:
- To promote and illustrate products and/or services;
- To offer live training, hold meetings and as message alternatives;
- To make live announcements to staff and customers.
For the everyday consumer or individual, live Web streaming is used for a variety of reasons, including (but not limited to):
- Business interviewing purposes;
- To showcase one’s personality;
- For leisure, i.e. social media;
- To gather information about products or services;
- To educate (either oneself or others).
1. Live Video Stream Makes You Stand Out
Live TV streaming, whether used by companies to advertise products and inform consumers of services, or by the individual – say to make themselves stand out to potential employers — is a necessary part of the online experience.
Both as a consumer and a business, live streaming on the Web can offer a unique sense of differentiation. For employers, live streaming allows for diverse conference, webinar and tutorial options. Not to mention a distinctive way to connect with staff and consumers. For the individual, live streams offer a personalized way to connect with viewers.
2. Create a Sense of Urgency
Trying to make a statement or grab the attention of customers or potential employers? Use live video streaming; it offers a sense of urgency. There is just something about material that is not available every day, which perhaps holds a special message that gets the attention of Web browsers.
3. Get Customers Excited About a New Product Release
Live streaming on the Web is often used by companies to generate hype about an upcoming product release. Keep your customers up-to-date, or stay in the loop with your favorite retailer, about up-and-coming, exciting new releases.
4. Customer Service
Live streaming has opened a whole new set of doors, offering consumers a personalized customer service experience. Customers can now chat live from the comfort of their own home with a customer service representative.
5. Announce Breaking News
Live TV Web streaming allows sites to share live breaking news action with viewers. Gone are the days when you had to sift through all of the important parts of a news article to get the highlights. Live online streaming allows you to stay up-to-date with the latest news stories in a brief and urgent manner.
6. Clarify Messages
Ever heard the saying a picture says a thousand words? Well, how many then, I wonder, does a video say? Written messages can often be misconstrued, distorted or even completely taken out of context in some cases. The use of live Web streaming offers the ability to clearly and concisely portray the intended message in a curt and confident fashion.
7. Maintain Company and Staff Morale
Live web streaming allows you to stay in contact with employees that work from home or in another offcie. Being able to address them daily, or weekly, “face-to-face” does wonders for employee morale.
Additionally, live TV and web streaming can drastically reduce costs for businesses small and large. Think about the money that is spent in travel and lodging expenses annually for conferences, meetings, and information sessions. Having the ability to interact with business partners, managers, and other staff without having to ever leave the office will make for a huge savings in the budget.
Going live as an individual or business offers many great benefits, to both the individual and the consumer. Live streams do take a bit of pre-production time to facilitate the content, location and purpose of the video. However, once it is all said and done, there is no post-production editing needed, simply post and voila. You are on with your day. The time and money that live streams can save those taking advantage of them is most definitely worth at least a brief mention. Live Web streams are a part of the web today and will continue to grow in popularity as their inherent benefits are further exposed. As it is today, you can hardly navigate through a day on the Web without coming across more than a handful of live TV streams. Which is great, that means that companies and individuals across the board have discovered the necessary role that live streaming plays in today’s online environment.
