Twitter Debuts 360-Degree Video on Periscope

Twitter is taking video to the next level on its site with the introduction of 360-degree live streams via Periscope.

periscopeYou can now watch 360-degree live video on Twitter and Periscope, though currently only a small group of partners can go live in 360-degree, thus far.

“With 360 video on Periscope, you can experience moments with the broadcaster and take a look around — it’s one step closer to actually being there,” reads a Periscope blog post. “Starting today, you’ll be able to join live 360 videos on Periscope and Twitter from some incredible broadcasters — getting front-row access at exclusive events, traveling to places across the globe, and getting up close with well-known personalities.”

You have the option of, changing the point of view of your camera by moving your phone or tapping and scrolling around the screen  while watching live 360-degree video.

Live 360 videos, which are marked with a badge to make them easier to spot, will be rolling out to more broadcasters in the coming weeks.
