Pinterest’s Promoted Pins Come to Ireland, Australia, New Zealand

Pinterest is bringing its Promoted Pins to three new countries: Ireland, Australia, and New Zealand.

The expansion of Promoted Pins, the company’s version of ads, began last year with the U.K. as the starting point for its international roll out. Prior to that, the platform was only available to U.S. advertisers.

“Promoted Pins help people find the products and services they can use—now or in the future—to turn inspiration into reality,” reads a Pinterest blog post. “Thousands of businesses use Promoted Pins to reach Pinterest’s uniquely engaged and action-oriented audience when they’re most likely to be looking for new brands and ideas.”

Pinterest is expanding the program with partners that enjoy a high level of engagement with their content on the virtual pin-up board. Partners include Aer Lingus, Tesco Ireland, Jo Malone, Avoca, Superdry, Colourtrend, Daintree, The Ark  and Lost my.Name.

Promoted pins look like regular pins but with a special ‘promoted pins’ designator. And, given that three-quarters of the pins saved to Pinterest are posted by businesses, they do not “interrupt or distract Pinners.”

“Your business will find an exceptionally receptive audience on Pinterest,” the blog post adds. “Promoted Pins have already helped many businesses reach their goals, from building brand equity to driving online sales.”
