Amazon has a new device for the fashion conscious.
Enter Echo Look, the latest addition to the eCommerce king’s line of Echo devices.
Echo Look is a $199 camera powered by Amazon’s voice assistant Alexa that is designed to take fashion selfies and videos. So next time you’re unsure of the outfit you have chosen for that important meeting or first date, you can simply say: “Alexa, take a photo” for a full-length image of yourself or “Alexa, take a video,” for a short clip.
The hands-free camera includes built-in LED lighting and depth-sensing. You can also blur the background “to make your outfits pop, giving you clean, shareable photos,” the website indicates.
Echo Look comes with a companion app as well so you can see yourself from every angle. The app also enables you to build a personal lookbook, discover new brands and styles and share your photos. And if you are feeling uncertain about your look, you can take advantage of Style Check, a tool offered by Echo Look that uses machine learning algorithms with advice from fashion specialists.
It is not all about fashion, however.
“Ask Alexa to read the news and audiobooks, set alarms, get traffic and weather updates, control smart home devices, play music, and more. Just ask,” the website reads.
“Getting ready for your day is easy—just ask Alexa to order a latte from Starbucks, access your Google or Outlook calendar, check your commute, and more. Alexa is always getting smarter with new features and skills frequently added.”
Echo Look is available for $199 on Amazon.com by invitation only. Those interested in purchasing the device can request an invitation to purchase Echo Look. Those who are selected will receive an e-mail with a purchase invitation.
