2. Join conversations in Facebook groups

There are tens (if not hundreds) of Facebook groups for almost every niche. Join as many of them as possible and engage in conversations with your peers.

  • Using infographics is a good attention grabber and a good way to create traffic. The ease of sharing a good well put together infographic is very convenient, especially via Facebook and Twitter. A good interesting infographic has a simple way of breaking down info in just a few words and phrases, therefore impatient viewers can still be driven to your respective site or blog. Despite everyone doing them nowadays I still enjoy bookmarking them.

  • I’ve found that checking competitor’s backlinks is a mixed bag. You’ll get an idea of how they’re building links and promoting their site which is certainly helpful, but not necessarily actionable. Copying their strategy is only going help you end up where they’ve already been. You’ll need to innovate and use new tactics they haven’t employed yet or outperform them on their chosen channels.
