Twitter is about to get a lot more interesting for news junkies and sports fans.
The microblogging site is introducing Happening Now, a new feature that brings events to the top of your feed in carousel form.
To start, Happening Now will focus on sports, although Twitter has said it will expand the feature to include breaking news and entertainment news.
Check it out in action below:
Feel the roar of the crowd, no matter where you are.
We’re rolling out a new way to see what’s happening now, starting with sports in ??! Available on Android and iOS starting today. https://t.co/lmBFCK4DG0 pic.twitter.com/cv4wL8hCxA

As Happening Now grows, it will be customized to suit each Twitter user’s interests.
“When available, we’ll show you events and topics we think you might be interested in when you open your Twitter for iOS or Android app,” Twitter explained. “Tap the icon to view why we think you’ll be interested in the event, or to hide the event from your timeline. Tap the photo to view conversation surrounding the event.”
Available on Android and iOS, Happening Now is strictly for U.S. residents — at least for now.
Hopefully this new feature will help people keep track of current events – and engage 🙂
