Celebrities Can Now Answer FAQs Selfie-Style in Google Search

Google is jazzing up its search results by bring celebrity FAQs directly to the source: the stars themselves.

U.S. Smartphone users can now find answers to commonly asked questions via Google’s mobile Search after doing a search for well-known stars or trending personalities. The answers come in the form of a selfie-style video from the searched-for celebrity.

“Whether you watch them on TV, listen to them on a podcast, or read about them in a magazine, you spend a lot of time wondering about the people who inspire you,” Google product manager Rami Banna said in a blog post. “Personally, I’ve always wanted to know if my favorite actor Will Ferrell can really play the drums.”

That and many other questions are now answered by Ferrell and a number of fellow celebs.

Other stars involved in the pilot program include Priyanka Chopra, Tracee Ellis Ross, Gina Rodriguez, Kenan Thompson, Allison Williams, Nick Jonas, Mark Wahlberg, James Franco, Seth MacFarlane, Jonathan Yeo and Dominique Ansel.

Chopra, for instance, answers how many languages she can speak, while Rodriguez opens up about what her pet peeve is and Jonas talks about the movie that changed his life.

More answers from more celebrities will be uploaded to search over the coming months.
